We use to use Tampon rolling papers. The girls always had the best & biggest papers around. If you cut them right you could get the Tampon label right down the center giving us a big ole Tampon fatty to smoke. lol They even came with a great big wad of filter with a string on it. lol

I used to use bibles, for rolling a big one. Most had a decent rolling paper or two in them. Learned that from sitting in a jail cell, when you could actually still smoke in Jails. I'm talking the blank pages of course, I'm not sacrilegious, or looking to be struck by lighting.

Finely a good use for them. I learned pinochle, haven't played since, I just remember lots of face cards maybe 9's 10's as well. Bad bunch them pinochle players, one bad move and you could get a slap up side your head....Lots of tricks in that game lol

Yea, we played lots of spades, good spade players. (Most every inmate was Black in Prince George's County, MD) 9 months spent sitting in a cell with a huge white guy who (allegedly) murdered someone with his bare hands; Locked up over $130 in bail money, for a simple driving infraction. Him and I were the only white boys in the entire cell block. They gave us respect though; cause everyone was afraid of that crazy lookin redneck. (including me). He even had them provisioning me packs of rollies, as payment for my weekend desserts. Wasn't too bad, but I was glad to finally get out, I think I was 22 yo, about then. I always wonder if he got convicted. He was a standup fella.

Apparently someone had threatened to shoot him (and he knew the guy was serious) so he acted proactively. When I went too see the Judge, he was like, you've been here 9 months? Time served, case dismissed....

I was simply too proud as a young man too call anyone for bail; so I wait it out. Read lots of books, played cards. Studied for my GED. (which I got), Before eventually getting into college. I've had a pretty interesting life. I dug a lot of pits for myself after getting out of the military, and that was a turning point, I suppose.
