Highly developed, from what I have seen from afar, and more visitors. It happens.Had to give alot of it away. couldnt get threw it all in a week had a golf ball size chunk of hash too. The people where amazing.i wonder what it's like there now.
Out on the balcony, or back yard, but we take a vape hit of a cart or pen anywhere inside.I don’t smoke in my house, I just head out to the she shed! Heat, air and a good chair and it’s on!
Next year we gotta go to Mexico to see Phish, they've been playing in Riviera Maya/Moon Palace Cancun for a few years now every February. 4 days/nights of music on the beach....I like the sun the sand and the history, Once you're out of the rat race of Cancun and Tulum its Mexican country and there's as much chance of violent crime there than in any rural country side anywhere, just folks trying to survive.....I'm not traveling to Juarez or the west coast now Mazatlan in Sinaloa county with its' violence..
We've been to about 20 different Mayan ruin sites and a few where we were the only ones there... and the only car in the parking lot.....fking awesome giant ruins we could climb over with the iguana's while the monkeys were howling 90f 95 -100% rh.
Our last trip we drove down to Palenque from Cancun via Merida and returned through Chetumal, There's a place on the coast we like to stay at for 3-4 days at the end of the trip. Mahahual , Right on the Beach 15ft from the ocean was about $120 USA. a night probably double that now but breakfast included and a meal package you can get or there's restaurants in town
No, not out of Mexico for ruins Cabo & the Yucatan only, We started at the resorts in Playa del Carmen and each timer I'd rent a car for a day trip exploring the strip & driving to Tulum/ Coba & Chitchen Itza for the March 21st Equinox event & a nightmare drive back to the resort in the dark.Have you been to any of the Guatemalan Mayan sites? Absolutely beautiful ruins their too.
GF has a condo in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta at one of the luxury all inclusive resort brands. We don't really venture outside of the resort other than to explore the cenotes or eat at one of the restaurants but we rarely even do that since the food is 5 star at the resort. I'm kind of nervous about how spring break in Cancun is going to play out with all the BS with the Uber and taxi drivers.
Sounds like you've spent some time in Mexico. I was trying to establish a business in Sinaloa many moons ago but it didn't pan out. I've been to practically every state in Mexico.
I love Merida and all the french colonial architecture. The food as awesome too!! If you ever get a chance try and visit the Oaxaca/Chiapas area. The food diversity is mind blowing. First time I ever tried eating crickets!!!!No, not out of Mexico for ruins Cabo & the Yucatan only, We started at the resorts in Playa del Carmen and each timer I'd rent a car for a day trip exploring the strip & driving to Tulum/ Coba & Chitchen Itza for the March 21st Equinox event & a nightmare drive back to the resort in the dark.
Then after 2-3 times doing that I'd get the car at the airport and get out of town. going further into the Yucatan on each trip. I found Mahahual searching Google maps and just off the coast is a big blue hole visible from space and I zoomed in from there I found the Mayan Beach Inn and with the pics I was hooked and had to go....
I've not stayed there but driven past it I think its just before PDC . Feb can be a bit cool in the evening on the coast, take a sweater or light wind breaker.....inland is still scorching but if you're out at the shows they put on in the evening it can be cold after a hot day in the sun.....Next year we gotta go to Mexico to see Phish, they've been playing in Riviera Maya/Moon Palace Cancun for a few years now every February. 4 days/nights of music on the beach....
Ya love to go again, Palenque is in Chiapas we stayed overnight in Campeche then down the coast to Sabancuy then zig zag through the country roads to Palenque....I love Merida and all the french colonial architecture. When I was trying to establish a business in Sinaloa I had flown there to start to sort out all the paperwork and documents I needed along with checking out physical sites for the factory. I made it through the entire trip without getting the runs......until I brushed my teeth before leaving for the return trip back to the airport. I had the filtered water bottle right next to me but I was running late and just plain forgot and rinsed my mouth with tap water!!!Keep your mouth shut in the shower and don't lick your lips...drinking water safe....bathing water / toilet water??????....
I don't know what that last part is about, but once you've roamed through Kingston kicking rum and red stripes with everyone you meet, everything else should be pretty easy...... ;). Actually if it wasn't for the Phish part of things, we're really not big on resorts, I'd rather backpack through some of the lesser traveled areas......but for this we'll probably stick to the resort area. It's enough to keep our energy for 7 or 8 sets of music over 4 days.I've not stayed there but driven past it I think its just before PDC . If I was staying there now I'd stay at the holiday inn just on the edge of PDC.....cheap clean and easy access to everywhere down there nice secure parking then book tickets to the show at the resort if that's possible....Save thousands compared to resort charges. It might be an exclusive show though so resort guests only......
Monstrous places some of those all ins down there.....I just like to roam a bit and got bored drinking beer at 9am eating all I could eat with fairly safe food. Its not Mexico until you get the shits lol.....gotta have a food adventure too.

Absolutely gorgeous!Standing in the cold getting snowed on to catch a buzz after this conversation, really makes me miss Jamaica lol. We also had the buy a sac of weed you'll never be able to finish experience lol. We went on a privat tour, hired a guide, he drove us all over, told us the history and cool facts about the island, the real deal about how shitty thier government is, how poor they really are for the most part. Took us to a real jerk chicken place and got us some smoke for after the chicken lol...he was such a nice guy... the people in general are so warm and friendly there. Drove us to a jungle float trip and the blue hole. Epic day all around. Here's the blue hole, pictures don't do it justice. View attachment 1341011Here's the guy's walking people down a waterfallView attachment 1341012I passed on that experience because I didn't want to split my skull open in Jamaica. I did jump off a cliff next to the waterfall though, deep water and I'm cool with that cause we have a gorge here that I've jumped off hundreds of times.View attachment 1341013And obligatory sunset pic. Back to my frozen smoking of this rosin soaked joint lol. View attachment 1341015

Snowboarded that place back in 2006.amazing.my buddy used to work on lake Tahoe used to go out and stay with him for a month and hit all the slopes near by. Used to do alot of back country snowboarding out that way until we all about got buried in a avalanche.we stuck to the resorts after that.lol.thats why I prefer michagins UP.
Have you seen the avalanche air vests they have for backcountry riders? I used to love skiing the back bowls of Snowbird but decided being buried in ice was not why I was on the mountain so now I opt for resort side sliding. I even gave my avalanche transceiver to my friends kid who rips the entire mountain. Mammoths always been one of my favorite spring skiing destinations.Snowboarded that place back in 2006.amazing.my buddy used to work on lake Tahoe used to go out and stay with him for a month and hit all the slopes near by. My buddy Nutch(R.I.P.) was a snowboard instructor at Mammoth.
Sorry that’s an awesome view as horrible as it is
When you are in the resorts the water available to drink is potable but the water in the showers isn't always treated, My wife has had the shits I believe came from the shower water & according to some of the tripadvisor forum users its a common occurrence. I was a regular forum participant while I was travelling, they helped a lot. Its a lot like this site focusing on travelI don't know what that last part is about, but once you've roamed through Kingston kicking rum and red stripes with everyone you meet, everything else should be pretty easy...... ;). We've been to all the big Phish festivals, from northern Maine to Southern FL for the millenial, but also lots of other music festivals around the country. We've probably spent 1/4 of our New Years' with Phish.......I hope they appreciate it...... :)
I love trip advisor! The comments have helped me find hidden beaches and prime spots to photograph sunsets. I’m a contributor in there and I post under LadyCapt. When you are in the resorts the water available to drink is potable but the water in the showers isn't always treated, My wife has had the shits I believe came from the shower water & according to some of the tripadvisor forum users its a common occurrence.
