I didn't want to be an asshole, but you probably ratted yourself out and/or fucked yourself. I've seen it so many times.

I just don't want anyone reading this to think they need to live in fear with some bullshit boogyman story because some dude didn't know his rights.

Just because you didn't know the law doesn't mean I don't, asshole.

I know it probably sucks learning that you could have prevented that, so you just reject it, but the sad truth is you probably could have.

Wow guys chill out lol, rule number one don't ever answer the door. And if you do feel like you have to answer then step out with door locked behind you. Better yet go out back door lock it and pop around the fence.
I got busted cause I threatened to kill my brother inlaw with a chisel because he wouldn't leave. Eventually he left called the cops, and they pulled up right as I wasgoing to my car to get my pipe.
I had the door locked but my bro came out after I didn't make it back in and left the door open

Well I found out the choppers for Butte County are using MapQuest in court to show locations for warrants. Problem is the satellite view the use is an older version of Google maps , maybe two years older than the views that are updated by google maps. The property lines are well off causing warrants to have incorrect addresses. MapQuest`s own sight states under the legal heading that there services are for entertainment. Butte County is using this as evidence in court cases? So much for rule of law being decided based on facts. Wonder how many other counties do this? So who would say how much risk I`d be taking if I got arrested for growing if legalization doesn`t meet my expectations? Well first you have to convict me on evidence, real evidence ! And if this is the best the courts can do they would be foolish to attempt to do that! There is the law and there is the presumption of law. For any one with a attorney`s background , it`s all in the grey area until it get`s decided in court.

Ya it baffled me to be arrested for threatening to kill someone who would not leave my house. Felony menacing because the chisel was a deadly weapon.
Could have caught the same charge if me and you were in a confrontation in a parking lot and I had a gun to your head threatening to kill you.

What did you use for a defiance tactic? Maybe I only had the intent of chiseling off the notion that he had a right to trespass after being told to leave my home? LOL! deadly chisel is a new one for me!

Might have even gotten a lesser charge if you beat his ass and physically threw him out, lol. As weird as that sounds.

I say lay off Newenglander. You guys have no idea what the real deal was with his case. Worse yet, he can't say his side for privacy. For those two reasons, lets stop assuming anything. Sorry to hear you did time for cannabis, and I recognize that you are one of the many fallen soldiers in this war. I respect that. We all say overgrow the government, but what's not said or recognized is there will be casualties along the way.

I'm just saying, usually when someone tells you about their case and it doesn't add-up, it's because they're leaving out the part where they broke-down and squeeled like a little piggy.

Thats what I said , without chisel in hand would be misdemeanor. Then I was informed that you can't threatened to kill someone even in your own home if your not in immediate danger. Bullshit

In high-school my buddy got in a fight with this guy and called him a "faggot" before he hit him, dude turned out to be gay and he got a hatecrime charge (dude broke his phone in-half for no damn reason at all).

I'm totally against gay bashing, but like he didn't mean it as in "homosexual" or anything like that. He honestly didn't even know dude was gay. It was just rediculous.

How do the cops there get around the federal issues? I don't own a gun, haven't fired one for many, many years. I just know what I've been told by po-po and my attorney out here, and what I've read. Which is that if you fill out a federal gun permit form or whatever it is and you don't state that you're using the federally illegal drug, you've just committed a crime, technically speaking.

When I was hit, and believe you me, I am doing nothing like running a drug ring, one of the first questions asked was if we had any weapons in the house. They asked the question at the exact same time someone else was counting stalks in my garden, to make sure I was in compliance. They then told me if I'd had guns that mine would have been a rather different story, they'd have arrested me. And I hadn't done a thing wrong.

So, yeah, I'll avoid that, thanks.

I don't know. I'm with you and don't carry guns even now. I'm pretty sure too many cases were being won at trial so they backed off in the legal guns.
Nowadays I see growers bragging about open carrying on facebook...
And on a personal note my bro got busted couple months after I did because his kids smelt like weed at day care lol. He had a shot gun and was only charged with manufacturing:speechless:

Police are not trained or required to enforce Federal laws. In fact the State Attorney General has stated several times that officers of the court(all officers in Cali) are not to enforce Federal laws. Most of the time they get around that by being sworn in as Federal Agents. They still do not have training and this could result in legal problems for them , the departments and the Federal Government. Most LEO in Cali are or work for officers over them that have anti- gun views so that also equals into that. Most also see us as useless pot heads also. They are trained to think of cannabis users as bad guys.
