I'm thinking of running it of a genny but not sure if that would be cheaper?
are you a medical patient
do you have your rec from a dr.
State laws say you can grow as many plants as you want within a 10x10 space
realistically your grow style def is an energy waster for what it will bring

not sure how big your tent is but I would run what ever will fit in the tent tray wise
and run straight SOG
shit ton of clones
veg for 1 week and flip to flower
run a flood and drain

that would actually maximize your space IMO

Just did the math, the lights cost 225.00 per month to run. Then we pay a surcharge on top of that for being a top tier user.

that sounds literally rediculous
225.00 a month for like 1300w
I dont think so
you are telling me your refrigerator cost 200.00 a month
a fridge is 1000w

your lights should cost
$117.per month
so your sur charge is $110.00?

WTF

1288 x 18 hours/day = 23,814watts
23,814 divided by 1000 = 23.814Kwh
23.81 x 15.59 = $371.20/day

Actually I was wrong because the first math was for only 24hrs a day.

Treated for thrips.

1qt of warm water
5ml Monterey neem oil 70%
2ml of Safer insecticide soap

Sprayed tops and bottoms until dripping. Wait 4 or 7 days to reapply.

By the way a fridge starts up at a 1000 watts but we have a tiny so probable much lower. The running wattage for a fridge is actually about 130watts

are you ok?
your equation is way off
you pay $15.59 per Kwh?
you pay 371.20 per day?

first
23.814 x 30 =715kw per month
715Kw x .16 per Kw =$114.00 per month
that is how you do the math

You're totally right. I drank way to much cannabis tea. I wasn't thinking clear.

So here's the deal. We pay a surcharge for a total of .43 because I am now in the top tier. I just looked it up to be sure. So this should be the math sorry!

1288 x 18 hours/day = 23,814watts
23,814 divided by 1000 = 23.814Kwh
23.81 x .43 = 10.2383/day
10.2383 x 30 = 307.15/30days

By the way, what about the mix for thrips I used?

I use spinosad with great success
I spray once every 3 days for 1 week
usually takes care of it for me

you need to apply for the medical needs baseline
and run your lights during off peak hours
according to pge you are using 4x your allotted electricity

that is rediculous for 1300w of grow lights

yes
are you a medical patient?
do you have cronic injuries? maybe on ssi or something else from your accident?
but there is no way you should be hitting 4x your alloted rate

I live in an extremely expensive area of Santa Barabara *energy wise* and I pay 330.00 a month for all utilities....I have 1000w going at all times not to include TV/computer/fan/heater etc.....
for a family of 6.....and our house has a fuckin "smart meter"
there has to be something else going on in your house causing a significant draw
as 1600w lets say with fans and pump etc. should in no way put you over by 4x the alloted rate

on top of that you live in the Bay Area
the most "Progressive" communist/socialist society on the planet literally....I am sure they will discount you for growing cannabis, hell, there dispensaries are forced to give cannabis away for free to the poor and there are vagrants shooting up and shitting on the streets in broad daylight at EMB and the Warf
discounting you for growing for medical needs....shit you could also get a discount for LED as well I bet
never hurts to ask

After you said it I just looked it up and as of now they do not have a discount for home Growers medical or non-medical. They do for businesses but not for medical Growers.

I agree we paid too much we've always paid too much we've had electricians out here to check it out we've had electricians fix up everything and we still get charged an arm and a leg always have. Another strange thing is our lights go out all the time we switch to LED so it no longer happens but when we had incandescent they would only last a couple weeks at the longest.

If you're lights are burning out yup must have something that has a big draw. How do you heat your home .do you have your own well ?

So I've been having a tough time keeping my res below 70. I decided yesterday to drop my room temps by 5 degrees. I'm now running 70 instead of 75. Good thing is now the water is staying below 68.

The only worry for me is if 70 degrees is to low or not, any opinions?
