Basically, what I'm getting at is...no dispensary (or caregiver, or anyone) wants to sell a bag of weed that has a paragraph for the lists of additives. Even if you don't use pesticides, but you use "bud booster" or hygrozyme, or whatever, you will have to list everything. I seriously feel sorry for the people using AN and all their (stupid) additives. But still, I doctor up my recipe, like most.

GH 3 part only has a stigma with the all organic folk. My dispensary just wants to slim down the list, go to a 1 part nutrient, no additives, as much organic as possible.

Right now my total list from clone to harvest would look something like this (omitting anything natural and/or organic and/or OMRI listed):

Clonex Rooting Gel, Olivia's Cloning Solution, General Hydroponics FloraMicro, General Hydroponics FloraGrow, General Hydroponics FloraBloom, KoolBloom, and may contain any/all of the following: DutchMaster Silica, H202, SM-90, pH Down, pH Up

What does this really say to a patient that doesn't know anything about growing?

Also, using the trade names on these stickers seems useless and like free advertising for those companies (only if its good bud). It would seem more useful to list the individual ingredients. But then if you were growing in mineral salts, you would just be listing all the inorganic compounds that plants require. And it wouldn't matter if you used a 1-part nutrient or a 50-part nutrient, you would be basically listing the same shit.

This really makes no sense. Foods containing GMO crops don't have to be listed, nor do the pesticides. Everything would say Monsanto Round Up and Monsanto Round Up Ready. Shit, its legal to spray imid on tomatoes up to 6 days before harvest, and you don't get a sticker. What about all the fluoride based compounds found in most prescription medications that are known to cause cancer and brain damage. Have you ever had a sticker for that?

And if I am using 3 part GH, what keeps me from lying? I know they will be testing, but if I flush properly, can the labs really test which brand of nutrients I used before flushing? With a good flush, and if my plants are all strong and have little to no deficiencies, shouldn't the tests come out the same for all brands of nutrients, even organics? Really, the goal is no residual phosphorous or nitrogen or anything that will make it taste or burn bad, right?

And no one mentioned the nutrient companies themselves? Do they want (or will they allow) people to list their products on bags of weed? Not all the companies that make nutrients are "out of the closet", some of them still just want us growing tomatoes...

This is of course a load of crap. Had anyone gone to another "organic" farm and find out what fertilizers that they use to produce their vegetables and what types of regulations are put on a crop like organic tomatoes or other vegetables. Surely, there are some rules set in place that can be applied to mmj without bias as it seems is being applied in Boulder. If other organic produce does not apply such stringent regulations, maybe there is grounds for yet another law suit to get these rules set properly.

Sort of reminds of the ingredients being mandatory for food. I am sure many of the same arguments were made about that.

It wont change anything except potentially making extreme or pure veganics style of growing becoming more lucrative or whatnot. People still eat at Mc Donalds every day and every knows that shit aint good for you. People will still get high and wont really care what its grown from really. My god I am sure if people knew about the reality of most of the things they use they would be shocked.

It also might increase the value of some additives. Lets say some additive gets a lot of hype about strength. People may look for that additive. Caring more about its strength than organic nature. In that instance it could be beneficial.

I dont mind it really but have not looked at it that far in detail.

For clones, try not using any rooting gel at all and B'cuzz root, diluted Age Old Bloom or you could make that EWC tea Okiedope posted somewhere back on ic. I've been using Clonex solution, it's just so easy and works well but B'cuzz root has worked well as a rooting solution in the past.

Earth juice sells "natural" pH up and down, but I never use pH adjusting stuff....

I doubt h2o2 or silica would count as a non-organic fert. or additive.

For pH you can use lemon juice/baking soda (EJ up = baking soda fwiw)

If people keep reaching in the growers pockets the patients aren't gonna be able to afford meds. Which is what I thought this was about helping sick people, not taxing and figuring out a way to balance the state budget fucking cocksuckers. I don't live in a med state yet and the oldheds that need it for meds I give it to for free. Gov. regulations always leads to tyranny. i say go back to how it was a few months ago and let the free market decide. if caregivers want to pay for lab test and list every little ingredient and patients want to pay extra for labeled meds then great. if patients want to save money and buy unlabeled farmers market style thats cool too. i'm personally Sick....of big brother.

DutchMaster Silica, H202, SM-90, pH Down & pH Up should be ok but who knows how crazy they will get. the ph up and down ingredients alone would scare the hell out of most patients.

While I can understand no one wanting pesticides sprayed on something they smoke, I think that lab testing (for contaminants, mold/spores, THC/CBD levels etc.) is a far better plan.

Should it be required? No. But those that want a little 'extra' as a selling point will do it.

How can a city government control what a 'private' company can charge you? Xcel (while it is a 'public' service, is still a PRIVATE company). Do they do that for other shops in the industrial zones? This is not the only industry that consumes electricity.

I would ~rather~ pay dbl elec rates than have to install a 100k solar array though.

Well all of it for the most part is just BS, I mean xcel power was given 8 year to comply with new regulations that were placed upon them. 8 years to a giant company and a little under 8 weeks for the middle class working woman/man, doesnt make sense at all.

Then with the labeling, does the average person know what GH 3-part means, absolutely not. I have a friend who lives in another state, but she follows the forums to see pics of whats going on out here and she always asks me what something means. Her exact words were "it sounds like you guys are talking some sort of slang I dont understand, in regards to growing."

So my point being, consumer mis- or lack of education and information on the growing techniques of the bud or edibles they are buying, will not change with labeling requirements. I think it will only confuse them more. All plants uptake NPK no matter if your feeding the plant directly or if your feeding the soil. The biological process of the plant is the same for organic or salts.

What really needs to be on labels, if the govt is so stuck on using them, is the certification of mold and pest free meds. On edibles I want to see a caloric breakdown, I want to see ingredients, amount of product used, and I want to see that it tested mold free. Right now Im terrified to eat any commercially made edibles, who knows what kind of bud or product was used. was it covered in mites? was it covered in mold? who knows because there is no testing required. And because MIP's are producing only for edibles and no one ever has to see the original product, Im sure the product used is not fit for smokable consumption before it is processed into sodas, cakes, candies, oils, tinctures, and the list goes on and on.
