You boys need to come out West. I know we don't get the lightest pow but there's nothing like Cascade concrete. Looks like this year we should be getting more than normal snow year so that means a shit load. Hell ya gotta have a sled and a splitboard for sure. Hey Jfly if you head to Ak make sure you've got a full crew for a heli and a bunch of dough. If your not a pro with a photographer your only going to being riding client runs. Granted the client runs can be sick but I'd suggest taking your sleds and the boys and work for the lines.

Vail is my favorite place, although my wife loves Beaver Creek more......... to each his own, obviously if you are tight for scratch you would have a better time at A-Basin...... I think that you can still get lunch there for 5 or 6 bucks...... as long as you don't need a beer!

And I'm with Frankie, KEYSTONE SUCKS! That's a great place to go to get hit in the head by some punk's snowboard! Everytime I go there some idiot flies into me.... and then they always take off! Usually I get a "Sorry, brah!" And then they're gone!

Breck is my favorite place to take my kid, plus I can get there the back way out 285, NO I-70!!!!

We are lucky we have so many choices, you can ski off Berthoud Pass for free, or you can spend $100.00 for a day at Vail (or get a pass) , it's up to you! I try not to judge people by where they ski.....

Now, where they fish?!!! Yes... and you need big sleds to pull ICE HOUSES out on those Mountain Reservoirs. Now, who doesn't like a sport where you can smoke weed while you do it?!!!!!!!!! :party0036:

the size of the paddle from what you say >2"paddles..is not what makes it good in powder..the length of the track is what makes it a powder hound or not, just a basic track which is good for trails etc. you take that standard sled in deep powder in the outback and you wont be coming back anythime soon being you will sink like a rock in a pond.

They have 151 inch tracks, they are Summit Powder sleds...... not trail sleds, which have the 1 inch paddles........

I might just post a picture......

First let me say thanks to everyone for helping me get this thread started. I really hope we can keep it rolling all season.

We have months and months of posting ahead of us.. "so lets figure out who's dick is smallest until April?" Not arguing I'm just saying.. Soon Colorado will be a winter wonderland with resorts to ride, backcountry pow to slay, and yes plenty of ice fishing.

Wishing puffs and pow for all!!

We're already getting the snowmobiles tuned for the 2010-2011 snow season. After riding backcountry in the San Juan mountains near Creede, CO (in a snow cat, 5ft of virgin powder that day) riding in a resort just isn't the same, at all. It was like riding a board in a water park for your whole life and then someone takes you out to the ocean.

If you're going to be in CO and you like this kind of stuff, a late 90's used 700cc polaris RMK is about the same price as 2 season passes. No lift lines, no parking problems, no one on the mountain, no one to bitch about weed smoke.. but, alas, no warming hut.

I'm about to go get a 2011 Neversummer titan 162 from the factory here in Denver. I'm stoked to see snow..

Just got some new burton cartel bindings. Got the 2010's for half off. Next on the list is a 158 SL, or maybe the heritage.

my buddy he gets to TEST neversummer boards every year and many months before they even think of putting the boards on the market..he gives feedback on each model and lets them know what needs to be kept or changed. i already rode almost every 2011 model they now have in the shops..the best i rode so far is the Premier f1..didnt really like the Heritage or the new raptor or anything else in the lineup but thats just me.
i only ride when it dumps 6" or more.. wont leave the house unless its atleast that much fresh on the ground. i never ride groomers unless im traversing to another stash spot..we rip trees, glades, bowls, chutes, pillow drops and the premier F1 seemed to fit my style of riding.. after riding for close to 20 years its hard for anyboard to fully please you but some just seems to have it all. got tons of pics from the tour we did a few months back of the neversummer factory..and yes most of them Toke the green.

Sounds like my kind of riding. I have had an Arbor A-Frame 170 for the last few years and love that board... took me a while to find one I liked.

dutchmasterz, so you loose a little stiffness for more dampening between the raptor and the f1? Seems like a good tradeoff to me. dampening isn't like stiffness where you can figure it out just by picking a board up, you need to ride it. Mountain is my style as well, I don't really ride groomers unless it's the first day or two of the season, I'm with friends from texas, ect. never been one for the park either. I've busted my ass, head, elbows on those icy landings too many times.

Mother nauture makes me a nice pow pow pillow.

"the heady pow pow stash" as my friend eilene puts it..

I like the flow bindings myself as I seem to spend half the day trying to get the ratchet straps to just the right tightness on the traditional 2 strap bindings. I had some burton bindings before these and they never gave me a problem, comfy and responsive once I got the straps right.

What about boots? I've got some 8yr old airwalks that I sport but I'm looking for something new, my boots are about done.

My board? you guys will laugh. It's an avalanche special 157 circa 1995. It's a tank, heavy as hell. It's not even worn out, I just got sick of looking at it. I've never ridden anything as indestructable as that board. I've gone through a burton and a salomon and had to pick up that piece of crap again because it seemingly won't break or wear out.

I always love the critiques of the Mtn. towns/resorts from folks who start their diss by saying "we drove up to"

drove up to from "where"? Someplace nicer/prettier/better? And how was the drive back home?

:giggle too muthafuckin funny! (sky lives about 2 miles from the ski lift @ BC)

Have a good season, and drive safely!
