I know the feeling.

That's awesome. I accidentally let my ak veg a week longer than I should and mine are way too damn big as well. I'll post new pics tomorrow of week 6 of mine. Good job bro.

youre solid mate! the temps are perfect but just to make sure, check the temp in your mini res if you have a submersible thermo, you should be around 68F.

for better fotos try shooting with the HPS lights off and just your incadecents or flourescents (or both if you have em!)on.
you can usually adjust the power of your flash, turn it down a notch or too to reduce bright reflections.
if you dont have control over the flash power then find your white balance and turn it down a few notches.
you can also use a flashlight as a modeling light with your flash set low (or white balance set to -1/2 or so). the different light spectrum from the flashlight will enable you to highlight specific spots on the buds, or you can fill in the bottom/top/sides with the flashlight. try this in the dark too with different white settings.
experiment, and have fun with it!

and your room looks GREAT! keep it up bro!

Thank You!!!!!!! I have had the hardest time in the world taking pics of my girls while the lights are on. I have been dialing in with every option possible and am making some yet slow progress, but your advice has helped a lot.

My stem to stem distance is 3" less than dd's design/recommendation. Had to do it due to room size restrictions. I won't do that again either. Still, I expect a large harvest as the buds are really getting chunky, sticky and dense. In spite of my f***ups, the room is performing better than any system I've ever seen, and I've seen 'em all. All in all, I'm very pleased to have found the mpb's. Less than 2 weeks to harvest.

3" less is perfect because you loose about 10% light with the fixtures and 3" is 10% closer. I believe DDs grow is a trick shot. Tight node plant with up close lights. The guys that are going to 50" and more are losing light because of the distance and my guess is they will not get the weight that DDs getts. Just my hunch. Time will tell. Anyway like you said you vegged to long, and it will take some time to learn a plant well enough to get the yeilds that DDs getts.

More lumens = more yield. More quality air and humidity control (for plants, to include co2 enrichment), = more yield. Excellent temps in water and air = more yield.

So yes, the distance of the bulb from the plant is money, either gained or lost. That's another reason for the water-cooled lights. We'll see if the result reflects this position. 2 more weeks max to go.

Man those mothers are huge. What do you think you'll be pulling from each one. I'm really interested to know gm per watt because this MPB is something else.

Coxie you really got some talent with your room setup. I'm still trying to figure out how to build one of these properly. I've only done coco so far but this has me fired up. And the water cooled verts, yeah I'm liking those.

I had hoped DD would have gone into more detail on his sticky for newbs like me.

DD has a special plant there, he says he gets 2lbs with kushs, which is right around where I was at last run with no co2. if you want 4per plant you need a plant that puts out 1/4lb kolas

Hey Socachi, I'm looking for 2lbs per tree on this round, and a little more on the next. I'm just learning this system, and finding all those little details is tough. But those details, if not known, can cost you yield and/or the whole friggin' grow. So ask everyone those questions, and get definite answers before proceeding. I've learned that one the hard way. You can do this, I did. It may take a bit of digging through all the posts, and asking all the veterans of the mpb's, but don't stop until you get the answers you need. This system is worth it, so your work to get answers will pay off. Also, the strain you select, is a major factor in the yield. I'm going with dd's recommendation on that. If you need his reply to the strain question, let me know and I'll forward it to you. Welcome to the mpb world bro!

It's more like a giant reservoir, that holds huge water volume. A chiller big enough to handle the load of 16k of these fixtures would be cost prohibitive, imo.

Sounds massive! I bet that if I had a swimming pool, I would find a use for all that water.
When you were talking about strains for getting 1/4 lb colas, were you meaning the 13dawgs, or some other variety?
Thanks,
-TF :evilgrin0013:

dd posted that he recommends; Hashplant, G13xHashplant, Black Domina and Northern Lights from Sensi Seeds.

The Hashplant I have going has colas the size of my forearm, and there's a hundred of 'em. I've got about 2 weeks left too! I can't freaking wait.

It is inspiring to see what can be done with this setup. I am anxious to see how this run works out for you and to hear about your next one. Keep up the good work Coxie!
