Finally got the correct filter bags so I played with the press. I have so much to learn about extracting but the results of the first press motivates me. Pressed (2) 7gram pucks and had a yield of 1.2 and 1.0 grams. I pressed too hard and maybe too hot so the wax is dark.

Took one cart to work, general consensus was I should have taken more than one as it was a hit. We were swaping about half dozen brands and the "not on the market" cart was the fav.

Harvest time for the Gorilla Glue, GG6. Very short plant. Flowers out at 9 weeks with a fairly dense nug. Low on the smell factor with a fruity note. Buzz factor is right up there where it needs to be.

Gorilla came out, Trainwreck goes in. These plants took off when they moved to veg and are a little big for a 6 week clone. Took a couple root shots, seems like healthy plants.

Thought I would try a single Trainwreck grow in the 3 x 3 tray. 7 5gl. buckets of hydroton, flood volume of 12 gallons. Trellis frame is 4 x 4.

I was out of carts so I spent a minute at the work bench yesterday. Trying to change only one step each run so I can see what works. This week I tinkered with the humidity of the flower pre press. I store flower on the dry side so I placed an ounce in 58% Boveda packs for a week. 7 grams each pressed @ 210 for 3 minutes @3000psi with a yield of 3 grams of wax. Not a great yield but the increased humidity made for a much cleaner product. 3 grams of wax suspended in 6 ml gave me 8 1ml carts.

I had accumulated 16 pucks, 4 ounces of flower. 500ml of Everclear for a good soak. Time will tell...

The pucks soaked for a week in Everclear, probably 6 days too long. Poor man's filtering system then another week to evaporate the alcohol off at shop temp's. I will try and recapture the alcohol if this turns out to work. 14 grams from pressed pucks that were heading to the trash. Still needs to dry down a little more though.
