Medium: Soil
Nutrients: GoBox [general organics]
Light: 400W iPower MH (veg) HPS 400W (flower)

What are your thoughts on the carbon filter? I got the light and filter in a package deal. I think it's huge, lol.

Since these photos, I began LST training the plants.

Happy 420!

Here are some updates from the last few weeks. I topped the largest plant and have two sections in water right now. It's been about a week or more since that so I am hoping to see some roots forming soon.

The other plants I tried different techniques with. One I used LST and tied with string. The other wasn't planted low enough in the container so it tipped over. I decided to just let it grow on it's side since I read that the plant being turned over on it's side releases an increased number of auxins? Only took 1-3 days for it to completely lift up towards the light.

The last I just topped and that's all I am going to do. I want to see which one produces the most using each method. I should of just done one with no training to see that process as well. I did not because I am limited in height in the grow area so I need bushier specimens.

Hope you had a great day!

Update: The specimen I LST'ed proved to be a male. I removed from the space.

Down to 3. About 2nd week of flowering. Largest showing bud sites and white hairs. Other two are starting to put out white hairs.

Is this a hermie plant that I have? Looks like seed pods on the stem?

All is well over here. I just got Maxibloom and applied the few days ago about 25% of teaspoon in 1 Gal. Was noticing the lower leaves are turning yellow so I determined the flowers were probably leaching nitrogen from lower leaves since I was using a low NPK organic fertilizer (go box)

Anyway, at least I have maxibloom for the future.

Yeah looks like it could be a pod, if there ain't loads I'd carefully remove them and then keep an eye on things

From this last week. Is the yellowing normal for flowering or am I deficient of nutrients?

I added CaMg+ and maxibloom when I watered today.

Here's the hermie specimen, I have not seen an influx of seed production. I pulled off another rogue pod this week but it's not inundating the specimen flower with male seeds so I think it is maybe genetics and it shouldn't affect the flower that much?

Sometimes the pollen is not sterile which means you'll get Nanners but no seeds. I have also heard rumours that hermaphrodite plants are more potent than a regular female due to the stress it induces trying to change. I would love to know whether this is true or not.

The fan leaves are starting to yellow, which is fairly normal but can sometimes be slowed down with a little nitrogen, if you aren't too close to harvest, Plants still need nitrogen during flowering, just not as much. Congrats on your 1st grow!

That would be interesting to find out if they are more potent.

I would attribute this to Urban Canna-Legend. The notion that stress helps potency comes from the 70s, and has evolved to the point that ANY stress is good for the plant, although I feel that plants grow best when left to themselves without undue stressing. I haven't noticed any difference in stressed plants, but maybe I just never noticed it. UV light stress has shown some promise, but for the most part, plants are like people and do better without constant stress.
Of course, this is only my opinion.

I agree with you. I know that a human body that worked in a stressful environment for a period of time may have done permanent wear to their bodies compared to a person with less stressful/strenuous work/life.

Either way, can't wait to smoke them. :D

Hey eirl! Thanks for stopping by. Your buds look great! Your plant looks healthier than mine overall. The fan leaves are nice and green where mine are like lime green. I would prefer to have the color of your plant!! The spikes are very interesting to me. It seems like wherever the spikes start, that is where the bud forms. Your leaves are very frosty as well. The bud in the back left of your photo looks like it is filling up well! You've got some spikes starting too! Looks like we have some pretty nice buds forming bro. What strain are you growing? Looks tasty. :)
