i could be the condition of the moms too maybe. the less nitrogen in the stem the faster the cut will root because there is more carbohydrates compared to the nitrogen. how were you moms treated this time around? same lights and nutes? all the cuts from the tops?
this is just something im throwing out there, not trying to say that product is not good or cant do what you say.
i have used straight water in my cloner or have added the gh 3 part. only thing i noticed was slower and less cuts root when temps are higher. some times i would be taking cuts out and trans planting in 6-8 days sometimes it would take 2 weeks.
so its 40-60 ml of Power Cloner no matter how big your EZ clone is? doesnt make sense youd add the same amount of power cloner to the 120 as the small guy.
I can guarantee you guys one thing...you will never get roots in 3 or 4 days unless you have moms that are the penultimate of good health...that is the total secret to cloning...if you have healthy moms and take big cuts (thank you DS) you can get roots in 7 days easy with plain water, everything after that is cream on the top...using Power Clone, RE, Hormex (my fave now)...
Focus on your moms...I have been through the search for the perfect cloning technique and found it...healthy moms, big cuts-at least 4 inches long, but longer is better...I am taking cuts that average 5-6 inches...I get roots in rapid rooters in 5 days max.
ok i think i just figured out a few things. jack said he used a turboklone 144 and put 60 ml of power clone in. after doing some research i found this link that says the tank holds 12.5-13 gal. or optimal water whatever that means
http://www.bulkhydro.com/products/TurboKlone-T144-Klone-Machine.html
so for 13 gal that equals 4.61 ml a gal. so since my ez-clone 120 has a 22 gal res than il be adding 101 ml. sound about right guys?
Nice post. I used 60ml in an ez-clone 120 and still got roots in about 10 days from healthy mothers with water temps at 70 and a cycle timer on 1 min and off 4, tested on a dozen different strains and had the same results with all but one. 100ml may cut that down a few days still. No foliar application was used either.
here is something you might want to try one time...it will only cost ya 14.50. I gave some Vita-Gro cloning solution a try...worked real well. I popped roots in 5 days, out the side of the rapid rooter... i might break my ezcloner out and give it spin around the block again. I found with the ezcloner 10 days was the norm and 4 days every once in awhile...
The Vita-Gro is a dip, not a gel, and it has a higher percentage of IBA than Hormex and a lower percentage of NAA which i read is not supposed to do a whole lot for rooting.
I have been using Hormex liquid with good success. I am to the point if I can get roots within ten days...I am overjoyed. Especially with 99% success rate. I do think though with the Vita-Gro that consistent 5 day clones ready to transplant out of an ezcloner is possible.
are you talkin about dumping the vita-grow in the reservoir or just dipping the clones in it and then putting hormex in the res?
I would not start over until day 14 and your not seeing anything.Do you see little bumps forming ? As far as ppm's I start at 250 ppm and then add 60 ml of power cloner what ever it comes to after that it should be between 400 to 500.And when you start to see nubs forming thats when I add Roots Excel at 1 ml per gallon..JACK
ok so i got some power clone and am testing it out as we speak. jack help me understand this cause it doesnt make sense to me. i wanted to find out how power clone moved the tds so i mixed some in 1 gallon and found out that 18 ml a gallon creates 100 tds. you said you put 4.61 ml a gal in a 13 gal res correct? by my math that would only equal approx 25 tds. could you please explain how you come to 150-250? i also know theres a difference between tds and ppm but even in ppm it doesnt equal nearly that high. just to add i dumped 200 ml of power clone in my ez clone 120 and it only raised it 50-60 tds. i had to dump in some b-52 to raise the overall tds level to 200 where i wanted it
thanks for the response click80. thats what i thought. im definitely gonna give vita-grow a try next time with power clone in the res.
just to be sure, I would only use the Vita gro to dip the clones in...I can't really tell what i smell in it but it is something alcohol related so i would not use it in the res, you know to be on safe side. I would use the Hormex ( by the way it is Water based)in the res, but first I would research it a little to get a general idea on how much IBA would be needed. I know I read something about this somewhere and I would think Desert Squirrel would have some good input, he has a clone thread on here somewhere.
Yeah I put a batch of Pineapple Express in on 10/13 and today I had, out of fifty clones, about 15 were rooted out the side of the rapid rooter. I know you cannnot really compare rapid rooters to a cloner, but it does show that the Vita Gro is some good shit..and the cuts are definitely better looking than when I use gel..the stem is really clean.
okay, good luck man.
hmm there seems to be some controversy over how much Power Clone to use...Jack keeps chiming in 45-60ml TOTAL power clone for ~13 gal of water. 4 ml/gal is also a common figure across this thread.
i went out and bought some Power Clone today and the bottle clearly states 45-60 ml/gal... Hmmm
tree king just above used 200 mL, which is still far lower than the 45-60 ml/gal and had great success...i wonder what actually using 45-60 ml in each gallon would do...
anybody with deep enough pockets to afford such a run?
