Dish for Oil - Swan

I've been looking for a nice dish to put my oil in when/if I make it for myself:

G4 - Flower Day 36 Update

This update includes more closeups and am overall shot. This has been an odd week here in SoCal with Very Warm Days and Very Cool Nights so my A/C has been going crazy. More than this the introduction of this new heat worked against my odor control ventilation ducting acting as a heat coil. I removed this ducting and got back 10 degrees (essential this time of year). I will figure something better out anyways as the Ozone Corona Filter doesn't do near as much as having a couple good air filters going.

Here are my updated shots:

dam those buds look frosty already bro! ernie's rubber ducky aint got shit on that pretty bird :giggle lol

Man those are some wicked girls. Just fantastic bro.
Major frost for only 36 days. I am on day 27 I hope mine get frosty like that in the next 10 days.

Whoa... :sign0005: The bud shots are looking sick LEBDOG!!! Kinda looks like you've been too nice to those girls for 5 wks though... How much PK booster are they getting and the overall PPM's including CalMag? :wondering

Everything looks perfect! And since you are posting such sick close-ups, this is my fav so far:

I am sure I have been nice to these guys, but I noticed a little tip burn from my nutes last week so I am also certain I am pushing them a bit too (a very little bit). I had a bit of an overheating issue the last few days of last week which slowed things down a bit, but things are back on track now. A solid 80-82 degrees on for the plants and a solid 69-70 for the nutes.

I am running 1650 as my high end PPM for this 6th week nutrient bath (the highest they will receive). I am running 180ml of (PK) Big Bud booster and actually 180ml of Bud Candy also (7ml+ gallon each). I just can't imagine running anymore as everything seems right on. There are some fatties and some average nugs, mostly depending on where they are in relation to the light. Shit, I am even dumping CO2 on them...

Thanks for checking in Shady and thanks for the compliments on the photos. I really just wanna get this photo things down a bit better so I won't just be throwing away photos like in my other threads. Hopefully if I get my focus right on, these shots may be used by others (Cali Connection, etc...).

I can't wait to pickup a 4x4 tent in the near future and get another session going with LED and Alien Bubba! I am still putting together cash for this venture, but it's on the way (top quality only).

Hmmm, 1650 PPM's... @ 0.5 conversion or 3.3 EC? Maybe I really need to up my CalMag... How much per gal are they getting or are you not giving them any with this new nutrient regiment? :wondering

I am giving them 6ml per gallon of CalMag this week (6). 5ml next week 7, 4ml week 8 and 3ml at the last week9. I am cutting my nutrient schedule back by 1 week as I can see that these guys will be finished by week 9. If they go any further it will be on water only...

I really think that any more than about 8ml CalMag is too much as I have seen negative effects in my other grows from doing this. I am sure I am wrong though, since I don't understand how all these things come together like you do.

I just know so many big time old school growers out there who just don't really have a clue what they are doing, but keep getting excellent results. These guys don't necessarily have a social life, but they easily could with their lapse attitude toward their plants. I want to balance their experience against the information I get here on THCF so that I can be a balanced THCFarmer. I am so thankful for the efforts of guys like you who really push the limits of what's known or accepted, to really see what's under the hood. This allows me sooooo much more freedom than without this information!

My mother, for her birthday got me a great little book, "The Book of General Ignorance", which brings up much commonly known information in the world. This book takes this known information and proves with fact that this information is WRONG. People hate to be rooted and told everything they know is wrong, but it's amazing how much information we are fed by agenda or ignorance. This books give so many examples of this, it's really funny and often a bit scary too!

Here are a few of the rooting questions:

Who invented the telephone?
Nope, not Alexander Graham Bell, but rather Antonio Meucci, who got sick and was unable to enforce his patent.

Who is America named after?
Nope, not Amerigo Vespucci, but a wealthy merchant, Richard Ameryk

And in honor of this crop, What's special about the birth of Julius Caesar?
Nothing, he was not born caesarean and his mother did not die in his birth. Caesar in Roman is pronounced, Kaiser and means King. Caesar salad was invented in Mexico.

Lastly 'cause the French are so hospitable, where was Champagne Invented?
Again, not where you'd think, but rather England. France didn't get Champagne perfected for 200 years.

Thx for the response LEB! I know I'm one that had negative results my first time in soil where I went over 8 ml/gal... I think I'll max out just under 7 and make sure I flush every 4 wks next time to prevent any lockout. :cool

Even Dumber

I really don't know what conversion I am using, let me take a look at my Meter's box real quick...

I have the Tri-Meter Model 202:
NaCI Conversion
1000 uS/cm EC = 500ppm

Lights Tight and Trim - Maybe a little too tight

So I think that the heat from last week and the lights being a little close on the right has given a few of the plants some heat stress, but nothing terrible or really bad at all. I will move up the lights tomorrow night. I just don't want to move it unless I have to as it's only a 600. I am overall super happy with how things are going right now and here are some updated photos:

Cleaning up my Veg Station

I had 5 Julius Caesar clones still living in my upper left cloning area. I am eager to get beyond the planning phase for G5. I already picked up a 4x4 tent and am deliberating between LED companies, for something which will do more than the job for this space...

G4-32_1.jpg

G4-32_2.jpg

As an experiment I took 2 Julius Caesar Clones and cut away the majority of flower material and set these up as potential mothers. I also too the healthiest Julius Caesar clone, left it alone and set it up as another potential. It will be very interesting for me to observe the amount of time it takes for these 2 competing alternative methods of Monster Cropping Mothers.

Here area the JC for the experiment:

I also took a shot, I am very sad to show, of the mothers I have had going for a few weeks already now. The 2 bushy ones are the unsexed Alien Bubba, and the one with flower material, is my single original flower cut Julius Caesar mother. What's sad to show is the terrible heat damage on the leaves on mostly the Alien Bubba, but a bit of curl on the Caesar too. This was due to the extreme length of ducting, I was attempting to use, to mix up my air conditioner's ozone corona infused air with. These ozone generators direct for least 15' of ducting, to allow the air to mix with the ozone. My ducting wasn't insulated and this is where I screwed up.

G4-32_6.jpg

After about a week now, things appear back on track and I am eager to see how all these potential's work out.

Very nice veg update LEB! I'm really lookin' forward to your experiment with Monster Cropping... :cool

G4 - Flower Day 49

Tonight I added nutrients for the last time for this grow. A week from today, I will add Final Flush (8ml Gallon), and this will complete the AN Nutrient Program. If the plants require any additional time under the lights, I will run RO water alone until they fully ripen. I ended up with 1350ppm at this final stage on my schedule before flush.

I am still in the planning stage of G5, and have some additional time as my clones are a little behind schedule right now anyways... Hopefully this clone deficiency will remedy itself over the next month as that's when G5 will commence.

Reading Grow Journals - KISS for a reason

Why do so many people overcomplicate their grows with such elaborate nutrient regimens? I look at the plants of the complicated grows and they are almost always doing worse than the simple grows. I can't believe that those who overcomplicate their grows understand what they are doing, so why would so many, want to throw so many unknowns in to their grows?

I have literally seen a grower in the SFV use GH 3 part and KB alone, and get results ranking with the best plants I have ever seen. This guy runs soil, drain to waste (simpler for nutrients on 1 side), but his program is dead simple and kicks A$$! He has been running this system for almost 30 years and perfected it, never calculating a thing, all rough measurements...

As soon as I encounter one of these overcomplicated nute schedules in a journal I look at the quality of the persons results and usually discontinue reading further. Growing is really not that difficult (once you figure our your ratio's) and precision isn't too important either, just don't overdo (overdose) things is one of the biggest essentials to getting it right.

I had to stop reading today 'cause the journals I was reading were so complicated, I couldn't take it anymore...

I couldn't imagine being a newbie farmer without a job in this economy with bills due. Staring at my plants, in eager anticipation, paralyzed with fear of the unknown, & having nothing but time to let all this tumble in my brain exponentially. It looks like there are actually quite a few on THCF with this current situation and I wish you all the best. I can't imagine how much pressure and frustration you must feel!

Good luck with your grows and employment opportunities newbie farmers. I know it's a tough market to find employment and I wish you the best.

Right on LEBDOG I totally agree
Superior growers grow superior plants, not nute charts!:damnhippie:
