So question to all you foliar guys... not at all trying to argue just think like with most there should be a reason to do something.

So what's the foliar you use and the reason for it. I think it's a good convo to have.

1 reason I can think of off the top is.... your ph is way out locking out certain nutrients so you foliar them for fast uptake until you can remedy the ph for a few days.

Plants react well to the foliar as an additional way to boost growth. Just had to be in check.
I like this Diablo product.
coco ph sits at the low end for calcium uptake so it gives them a boost.

I dont think they boost growth unless they are correcting an issue.

That makes absolute sense about the calcium. Much depends on the nutrients used and definitely if a calcium deficiency if seen it will remedy it much faster through a foliar. But imo if no deficiency then there is no need.

You nailed it. That's pretty much the only reason. It gets there now. For seedlings-2 weeks, seltzer water for co2 perks em up.

Yeah and it actually works... just for a very short period. There is a company that specifically makes systems for micro greens using co2 supersaturated water to spray the plants many times a day.

For sure. Tough to give the girls too much calcium tho, and the foliar addition works great for me. Especially with LED lighting.
keeps the leaves nice and healthy.

Microgreens. I was thinking of starting a microgreen biz here. We have enough high end eateries.

This is them. Don't go thinking it will work for cannabis because it won't even though it's marketed as possibly doing so.

While it works in some applications we all know cannabis marketing.

Or you can save money and use great value seltzer water. Canada dry for the big spenders lol. It was a tip in a old weed growing book from the 70s and it does work.

Oh it will definitely perk em up... I just meant its not as cost effective as other co2 methods for cannabis and our light intensity won't allow us to do that all day long every 15-30min

Exactly. Only cost effective in very small plants. Ime plants that get of to a good start are always the best.

I honestly feel unless you fully understand how and the possible risks and negative impacts to look out for then avoid foliar. It absolutely has its place and can be very beneficial used as a tool but I personally do not unless needed. I will probably for the forst time try doing my silica as a foliar next grow. Imo it's a more advanced technique and we should get the basics down first unless you have someone to guide you.

Just have a big enough stash and you can experiment - kill a few plants and it won't matter. That how I learned. Never thought about using silica foliar. Let us know how it works.

I am an organic soil guy, so that's where I would send you. It's probably the easiest method of growing.
Hydro will give you super fast grow, but evenly matched, both will give you awesome buds.
