i m not doing it and never had anny issue, i just fill my pot with soil, put the 3 days germinated seed and water 1L for 6L pots then i water .5L every 4-6days for some weeks then when the plant is big enough i usually give her 1L every 4-5 daysOk il buy 1 of those then. try to stick to moslty indica strains, up to 50%indica/50%sativa hybrids , you may encounter height issue with more sativa strains.
I thought you could choose when to start the 12/12 flowering anytime you wanted75%sativa/25%indica are still doable but you'll have to switch to flowering at the exact right time wich is tricky, mostly indica, and 50/50hybrid are more forgiving regarding height in the end and amount of veg needed before 12/12 flip
