Hempy LED Grow: DP Power Plant

Day 23: Everything looks fine here, but the LED is 13" away from the tops and they are still stretching, and even if they stop stretching the buds themselves will grow large and be too close to the light. Absolute disaster.

your grows looking good man you're gonna have a nice harvest those buds will bulk up a lot! Just wanted to suggest something... if at some point your buds do get too close to the light u can consider cutting the ones that are too close ... altho i think doing this too late into flower isn't good. cutting off a few early flowering tops imo could help u might even give your buds better taste and grow them bigger. maybe some other farmers could chime in on this, cutting a few flowering tops off can he do that if they get too close to the light?

And thinning the branches or bending them down will be OK
and you are making great progress.

Thanks for chiming in guys.

@canadaseed Id have to cut off every top if that were the case lol. Im going to try and get the LED a bit further up to the roof of the tent but I dont have much room to play with.

All those tops have the potential to be huge colas so it will be a shame if the whole grow is ruined due to the stretch.

doesn't sound ruined to me...just take some string and tie the tops down a little bit...they will stop stretching soon...next time veg a week or two less...

I flipped to 12/12 exactly 5 weeks from when they were planted into the coco though, so thats a 1 week seedling stage and a 4 week veg. Isnt that considered a short veg?

There wont be a next time either lol, never growing a satty dom ever again. From here on Im sticking strictly to indicas.

Tying down alone isnt going to solve the problem either. Even when tied down the tops are 13" away from the LED and still getting closer. And even if they stop stretching right now, the colas are going to swell a few inches. Which means I am pretty much screwed.

start training doooown . the sooner you start the more vigorous you are the more space you will gain. You can do it man don't give up, not screwed!!!

I tied them down there, it will do for now but I have a feeling its going to create more problems later

So its Day 25, and they are still stretching lmao. Anyway heres a few shots I just took. The buds are actually filling out a lot more than is visible in the pics.

Oh btw I just wanted to let you guys know, the ONA block that I put in my ducting 3 weeks ago is still going strong. Dont listen to the people that say they only last 1 week, its looking like I may get over a month out of one block.

Just thought Id let you guys know in case you ever get odour issues. The smell of weed is intense inside the tent, but the only smell coming out the ducting is fresh linen lol.

Ok guys, what the actual fuck?!

I thought the stretch was slowing down and about to stop, then I open my tent today to find they stretched almost another TWO INCHES OVERNIGHT!!!!!

Its day 27 since the flip, what the hells going on here? I even had to snip one top off because it was growing into the LED! It was my worst plant anyway though so no big deal, that plant is going to be a poor yielder anyway.

But seriously, is this normal at almost 4 weeks in? Starting to look like I may not even get a damn harvest beause soon they are going to hit the fucking roof of the tent!

Don't snip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just squeeze the stalk a bit and bend them over.After they start turning back up you can tie them down.Snipping is bad! ;)

Damn, too late now lol. Well it was only one top on the plant that I dont even care about, I mean this plant is not going to yield much anyway so its no big deal if I fucked it up a bit.

I really regret not taking the advice of a very experienced grower from another site weeks ago when he told me my tent is too crowded which is contributing to the stretch.

If I took his advice then and threw out one or two plants I wouldnt be having this problem and would be seeing better results.

I've had plants that seemed to stretch forever...I don't think the crowded tent is the issue...I've had six 6 foot plants in a 4x4 tent...I was running a vertical hps though so I didn't have to worry about growing into the light, just had to tie them back to stakes...

I agree with the suggestion to squeeze and bend them down...I've seen people tie the tops down as well...you will make it, but I'd say that if your 4 weeks in and the buds look like that, your gonna probably go 12 weeks...sativa dom for sure...just be patient, and bend some of those tops down...

Make sure you really give them a good pinching, or you might snap a stalk. Don't cut off colas.

Oh the pics dont do them justice. They are a lot bigger and fatter in real life, and growing noticeably every day.

Im expecting them to be done in 4-5 weeks. Based on pics of many other strains at 4 weeks in which finished at 8 weeks mine are actually looking further on than most.

Hope Im right anyway!
