TBH, It was from the reef world that I really decided to make my purchase. Loads of great info on those forums, minus the kids and egos, just great, in-depth knowledge to be gleaned. I did see somewhere some company selling a hood with a 250mhal in centre and a bank of leds on each end. Wicked bit of kit and that was lighting a HUGE tanks with corals and rare fish.

Not many kids on the reefing forums, PLENTY of egos. We have some amazingly brilliant people who dabble in the art and science. That said, they're a damn sight better than what I, as a woman, encounter on pot and motorcycle sites in terms of respecting others and not talking a bunch of smack.

Anemonebuff's been at this for quite some time, has great success with anemones (thusly, the "buff" bit) and they can be more difficult than many corals, even SPS corals (small polyp stonies). This tank appears to be dedicated to corals, though. And oh hell YES, he's doing this over the 125! Go AB!

Inhibits insect infestation..? Btw, kuz, that LED "warning" just linked back to their page. I find nothing at this point to substantiate anything more than some manu's have a warning label not to look directly at the LED. Seems more like a CYA thing to me at this point.

ya Seamaiden, I noticed that. Real professional to make that claim and not back it up with something, not that i'm too interested in standing up for the led grow light makers.

Read the link to reefs dot org, motherlode. Take special note of what John Henry has to say about the spotlight. This is significant given certain factors. Like that the animals in question were being moved from under a metal halide lamp. If it can burn a coral then that is some significant push of photons we're discussing. Sure, it's blue end, but still, it's also LED.

If a company is going to make claims and assertions, they need to be able to back it up with more than just their studies or tenuous proof.

Yep GLH is a completely different company and the owner Mike is a very chill, cool dude. He doesn't engage in hype, censorship, and lies online. He lets his products speak for themselves and lets the chips fall where they may. I bought his 180watt light for veg. Works great. No complaints here so far, and if I ever have any, he's not interested in CONTROLLING and censoring the discussion. And he straight-up offered a 15% discount.

The mods on thcfarmer need to start deleting the led threads that mention hydro grow because its coming up on google search except for this one of course. Its very important to distance yourself from this person because they will continue to operate.
