ya i’m sure you’ll be fine, i like the idea of a fresh start all the time indoors and for the cost of a bale im not gonna work to re use soil,..

Yeah, I think I might be a little more financially strapped so it has been cheaper to reamend for me🤷‍♂️ No right way to skin a beaver, but two cocks in a hand ain't skiing🤣😜

Always time to learn something new!

Plant 1 no issues, so eliminates the strain.

Clone 1 no issues until I put it in reused soil. Limits options.

Clone 2 taken from problematic plant put in same promix only difference is it's rinsed, clone grows new leave unaffected. This eliminates a virus. If clone 1 got virus then a clone from that plant would have same virus

What's left? Salt. The promix was a tub I had been saving for many grows probably 8-10 different plants after harvest would uproot and shake the remaining promix into the tub. All 8-10 plants (different strains) showed the striping mid to late flower. Seems that's about the time it would take for salt to build up.

Clone 1 got issue early veg as soon as I put into non rinsed reused promix. Idk what else it could be if not salts?

I have seen post while I was just searching around on other forums of people complaining about the same thing with biobizz promix?🤷‍♂️

what’s your definition of salt?
and really beyond all this testing stuff your doing doesn’t say much to me unless you can grow healthy green plants right up until harvest understanding plant nutrition that i’d like to see if so,.

The original plant from seed I was able to grow healthy green no strips it was my first time without the problem. Changed to a feed feed feed heavy flush schedule. Heavy feed heavy flush.

All the rest I have had issue I did flush but less frequently or I didn't flush listening to advise on here. Things like don't flush just water/feed with less water, or increase feed because it's a deficiency. The only time I did not have the issue was when I did a heavy flush every 4th feed.

Again we will have to agree to disagree on this one. But everything I done is screaming salt to me.

I've used Fox farm nutrients which is salt based, and I have used strive nutrients which is salt based. That's what my definition of salt is.

If that's the scale why does Fox farm include flushes in its feeding schedule? And do they have sledge hammer flush which is designed to create voids in the medium to allow salts to exit?

And why does strive nutrients suggest a heavy flush at 12 weeks if your harvest is longer then 12 weeks. On there website is says this flush is needed to remove the salt buildup?

The problem is everywhere, a lot of people have the same issue, on this website they will direct you to do everything but flush, as you can see from gnick which is trying to help and I appreciate the help but I think it's as simple as peet moss mediums hold salt very well. I believe many people over fertilize and that's the issue. Gnick got a lot more experience then I do but I disagree with him on this one. Just my opinion and who knows maybe I am totally wrong, but I'm continue to do my flushes and be happy happy. 😎

New here, but not a (total) noob when it comes to growing. Maybe it escaped me when I read the thread, but I don't understand for what reason you wouldn't just try it with fresh soil. If you had problems in the past using the same method, then it might be a good idea to try a different approach.

I would switch everything in this case, soil, fertilizer and seeds/clones. And yeah somehow sterilize the tent, in case it's some kind of stuff that takes a while to effect the plants.

I use light mix, but I wouldn't reuse it for anything but my flower pots on the balcony. You don't need to buy soil though, you can just find a guide about how to create your own.

Anyway, I hope things will improve for you and whenever it does, just share the experience, so other can benefit from it.

i see so many sites with incorrect info all the time,. i just went through the strive site and they basically using fear tactics and re wording stuff to make their stuff sound easy and the best,, after visiting that site i wouldn’t use their stuff,..
sites that are telling you to flush every couple weeks is because they are also telling you to over feed so you go through more of their products,.. period!!!!!
i think most of you think salt is like your table salt building up in your medium? it’s not the same,. nutrients or salts as their called sit in the soil,.. here read that wiki link at least,.

That's good and dandy, but a question for you if you over fertilize your plant, what compound is creating a lock out?

the compound is not feeding or watering correctly
