So this is a song that I think is often overlooked when thinking about Jerry's works. It wasn't played many times by the Dead, but Jerry did play it a bunch. Here is the Dead playing it, and man what an awesome version of the song (I find myself saying that a lot about the Dead, but I guess that is what makes me a Dead head).

It was definitely a serious response from the crowd. The date on the video is incorrect, that song came from 3/17/91 and was the first of only four performances of the song by the Dead. Jerry played it more than that, but mostly with JGB. So that response is definitely warranted.

Damn dude, my boy and his girlfriend are going down. I just didn't have the cash to go this year. Hopefully I will be hitting up some festival come August, when I have both the time and money back in my pocket. The Cheese sets are going to be epic, not to mention the rest of the amazing lineup. I am absolutely bummed I am not on my way down right now. So jealous (of all that are going).

the cheese sets were what originally caught my eye then i saw that jerry douglas is playing, tim obrien, bruce hornsby etc like you say its a really amazing lineup..that woulda been great to meet up and talk jerry for a bit..maybe next time!

on the delfest site, theres an article that literally says this festival is def a jerry garcia kind of festival lol that was the selling point for me

Fuckin awesome!! game changer one might say..hit me up in pm if you want and ill send ya some links of videos I found on youtube..jerry douglas and yonder mountain were out of control. String cheese played a really good "I know you rider" and "sittin on top of the world" ..smoked bubble hash non stop haha such a great time..sorry you couldn't make this one bud!
