I highly, highly doubt they get "the best' smoke from rockwool. No way their stuff burns clean with that media. Even coco gives better flavor than RW. But maybe their customers haven't tried real organic weed? Also the stripping method works for some strains but not others...already tried it with mixed results.

I wouldn't call it the best smoke, but it is one of the best spots for consistently getting high grade cannabis.
I smoke their flower when I'm out of my own.
This Topanga Canyon OG is extremely dank. From Jack and the Jungle Boys.

Peace

Are you guys sure jack and jungle boys are one in the same? Jack's grows are totally different then what jungle boys have on Instagram. Different layouts, they don't grow the same strains, and jack swears by coco, not Rockwool, and doesn't vege in a vege room...he vege's for 2 wks in flower rooms and flips. Jack also doesn't strip his plants to the last node. They're both in LA but I don't think they are the same. Just my 2 cents from what I've seen on here

Looks like your right, he's definitely working with them. I'm thinking he's always done his thing but eventually joined their team. He is getting hash tagged in pics as jackmayoffer and jungle boys as jungle boys, which makes me assume they're separate people. He doesn't mention them anywhere on here in his old posts. TLC collective has been around for a while. Wouldn't be surprised if jungle boys recognized the quality of jackmayoffer's work and partnered up with him and/or started pushing his product thru their collective.

I'm pretty sure Jack aka Ivan has been with TLC longer than anyone on the boards has known. Remember not until a few years ago did everyone decide to be out in the public eye.

Got it. Very true! I just joined this site and Ive been at this for 15 yrs, 7 of those yrs in cali. Never imagined putting myself out there like this lol

Jack is with the Jungleboys
And they just switched to using Rockwool, they were on Coco for a long time.
Anyone still growing in coco beds like jack taught everyone on this site? I've been in rockwool for the last 3 yrs and was inspired to switch to coco beds after running into jacks 3 yr long thread, now I'm having 2nd thoughts. Curious to know why he would switch to rockwool when he had the convenience of reusing the same coco for a couple of yrs. That is a huge $ and time saver when you have a commercial grow.

I think from an economic standpoint you might actually come out a little better using rockwool. You will save money on man hours that are needed to maintain cleanliness, fill pots, clean used pots etc, and you will have a more consistent meduim, since individual pots of coco will vary in density.

I'm just guessing tho.
Those are my thoughts whenever I see someone running rockwool. I think man they're lucky lol

Has anyone tried their veg lighting technique.

Im pretty sure they run their veg light 12 on 12 off and while the veg lights are off they leave a few t5s in the room on.

They said it saves a bunch in electricity by running your veg lighting 6 hours less per day.

So this one node then flip is just stripping all the vegetation from the plant eccept the growing shoot and node behind it and flip?
That sounds counter productive but wat do I know?funny thing though as I once saw a guy post a vid on utube were he done that to all his plants and the dogs abuse he got for it in the comments section was terrible but now jungle boys do it so every one wants to try recreate theyr success.

Ya just lollipop them hard before/on first day of flower

I feel like this thread needs a reply to the op.
I am no expert by any means but I believe as being a customer of theirs and knowing enough how to grow and about Cannabis, that I can explain some of their technique.

Other than what others have already mentioned about their lollipop and feed techniques, I think their use of vpd in growing and drying is a big factor.

As Ivan says, the basics are dialed in. Any good farm is going to have this and anyone 10+ years of growing big scale is going to have that shit dialed in.

Their method of dying on the vine and whole plant hanging in 60/60 means that they are curing as they are dying, meaning canabalising of sugars into more THC. I am a believer as I smoke it.

The highs are consitent at 3-5 hours. Their herb is always fresh, burns to white ash, is clean as hell, and has amazing pheno traits. Their Orange Cookies smell and taste like the real thing. Their Wedding Cake is unreal, funk and sweetness with a frosting taste.

They mainly do hybrids which may attribute better to their one node technique. They are very much Nor Cal and San Fran genetics. They use that TK a lot as well as any Cookies. They do a lot of pheno runs from my understanding, and some take a couple of years, but they always have new shit coming out, so they are well organized.

Their collective can be a bitch, but people will wait for 2+ hours with a smile on their face to get this herb. I get an OZ every time at 275.

The proof is in the herb. It seems like it never dried but never stayed too wet. It is perfectly wet and sticky, but still burns easy as if it was dry.

I think this is because of the dying and drying technique. With the proper VPD you will not get mold. The moisture in the air will not be as airborne with an extremely cold drying temp, so the humidity can stay higher, and thus the drying is slower so that they are cured all the way, and not drying them out and then attempting to reinject the humidity in a jar.

I believe the trick in drying is hanging high. This keeps them from being closer to the heavy moisture which is staying much lower at the low temp. My 2 cents.

Peace.

Spot on. Their environmentals from clone to cure is a notch above most grows, but not unique and not impossible to duplicate. They really shine with their dedication to pheno hunting and getting the best traits.

My .2 cents. I just recently on my last harvest used their technique of wither or dying on the vine. The process makes perfect sense as we all know the longer and slower the dry the better the finished product is with a proper cure.

I stopped watering/flush 3 days before lights out at harvest. The flower room was kept at 65 deg and humidity was at 60% with a gentle movement of air thru out the room. The buds didnt get the dried crispy feel on the outsides for 21 days. I forgot to mention a couple of days into the harvest cycle I did trim all of the larger fans and continued to let the plants stand tall in their grow shoes. At day 22 the colas went thru phase 2 of trimming and were laid on screens kept in the room but I dropped the Rh to around 45-50% and allowed to dry until I could sense in the branches that they we ready for final trim and curing jars. This took approx 7 more days. So the wither on the vine for me ran a total of 29 days before even hitting a mason jar.

I must say I do believe those boys are on to something here. The slow extended dry with the roots still in the soil seems to be what takes the erb to another level. The aroma/terps and taste are out of this world. Potency of course varies from pheno to pheno but I am definitely sold on this technique.
The only down side for some will be the length of time invested as most cash croppers dont have that kind of time. But it is time well invested. The strains run were very familiar to me and always tasted/smelled good in living organic soil but again these same strains dried and cured by withering on the vine is a whole other ball game.
Name is cactus and I endorse this statement!!! :D:smoking::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire: I am in no way affiliated with jacmayoffer or the JB's but I know that this method has taken my stash to a whole other level and would recommend it to anyone who cares about the way their stash tastes, smokes and smells.
