The university of michigan has a whole series of tests and published info on hps vs metal halide. I started there.
Yes and HPS will s because it's more efficient and therefore puts out a higher intensity of light and slightly better yields because if that

i have not said that at all. That is called mis-direction in negotiating class. ;-)

I said you cant get more for less money.

And that i have experience dealing with these factories at a wholesale level. And the real parts cost more and they are lying about them in print as there are no laws preventing them from doing it and they have literally no scruples in business. And will tell you that.

and the guy in your link agrees about it.

"I said you cant get more for less money." I can get behind that statement ... but likewise, you can also pay too much for the same technology. Due diligence done with an open mind means setting aside some of these biases ... It's like the argument I still hear about "only buy American cars." Why? I should be able to buy the best car I can afford regardless of who makes it.

About LEDs and the far orient.... waiting for 3 samsung/osram/meanwell driver kinda gavita knockoffs. Had the help of a big importer of all kinds of comercial lights who works with the factory .Also been send the osram and samsung serial numbers and being checked by samsung and osram. The meanwell driver were checked by dutch phillips office.
they should be china LED build with the same lights than gavita but different driver.

Reputable companies do not engage in fraud and last in today's global economy. It would be suicide in the internet age. While what you say does have truth ... but those "truths" don't apply to "all" companies. Remember English class? "Hastie generalizations are always wrong."

What I hear you saying is something like this ... Because some products have been counterfeited by shady Chinese companies, then all Chinese companies engage in fraud. Frankly that argument is BS!
Not all - but Shenzhen has a reputation

i just want the true information. I am not telling anyone how to spend their money.

Although i believe we should support our own countries’ economy first.

Most of these light companies are rip offs and CCP crap. The entire industry pisses me off to be honest.
I agree they all are making huge off the industry... except the little guys who are being gouged on parts also.

But with the return on investment and space and plant count limits.... you just need to swallow that pill if you decide the gouging is going to pay off in the returns.

We’ve been provided an example in real time.

To a point, I agree ... however, if a foreign company is making a better product and selling it cheaper, then the US company has a choice if it wants to remain competitive .... They either need to have a more compelling argument than "buy American" such as "we offer better warranty" "we offer better service" we use higher quality components" ... all those things could be made into a compelling argument, but only if it were predominantly true statements.

Buying inferior products because "its American made" is the opposite of a free economy. Instead, it tosses the ball back into the American company's court to either have a compelling argument for the higher price or price more competitively.

Let me take a stab at that... because you keep Americans employed... now it may not seem like at this moment in time that's important but when that place of business closes due to loss of sale to foreign markets... all of those ppl are looking for more work and who's jobs are they competing for? Yours and mine if I was American... what does that do to wages? Well so many ppl want the job and as demands for workers goes down companies take advantage to pay less to those still employed and the rich get richer and the poor and middle class (almost gone) get poorer and rely more on government and companies who take advantage.... so if your not gonna buy American then as a Canadian I will politely ask you to buy Canadian and say sorry if this offends anyone.

Remember when Maserati paired with Chrysler in the eighties ? Didn’t work

Econ 101.
It unfortunate that American labour did not adapt To the changing marketplace in the 80s and 90s.

Think gavita has kinda nailed the sweet spot with spectrum ratios... but I think some would like a little more red... personally I think it's all the breeding to get short ass plants that's the issue but I can see how a bit more red in thier spectrum.... yeah now I'm just babbling like a tired fool.....

Added to this I received a free Mars light in return for some pics - however they sent me a light with Samsung diodes and meanwell driver to test when in reality that’s not what they were selling ! I tried to purchase another one but could not . Mars told me it was old stock - I call bs I think they new they sent me a superior light to document ?

We’ve covered a lot of the disreputable companies. And the proponents on Gavita have given there advertisements.

Is that are we out of options for good LEDs? Just one company? What about mammoth or viperspectra?
