i read and article in max yeild that they cant colonize in RDWC, the pump blade breaks then up. in soil theyform a fine bond together, a weave if you will, but arent able to do so in water, very fragile

These are the best roots i've ever had, and im willing to bet its thanks to the great white. I know its not colonizing in the water, but im sure it is in the rootball itself.

I also know someone that has used GW in hydro for awhile, and it seems to work well for them :)

in my buckets with lava it seems to help, the lava is porous enough I think to help stay in the root zone there

no problem getting lava here, big and small, everywhere you go....if it wasn't so damn heavy I would ship you some, not very cost effective though!

My baskets sit in the water as well, so perhaps they are colonizing the Hydroton? Anyone have thoughts on this? My roots look great, best ever... Hmmm...

yeah, I would say it is keeping the roots happy in the clay, I have a feeling lava serves the purpose better though, more pores and caverns in that stuff, and more stability for the roots anyway....not to mention, wayyy cheaper than clay

I have some buckets with clay and some with lava, some hempy's too....hempys and lava pots/buckets seem happiest and I think it is due to better use of the beneficials

so i guess its not saying dont use it, who knows, def cant hurt.

When I get the other room done, i'll post up some pics. I'm going to get some help with the wall, so it'll be a few weeks.

The monster is looking really good. I have never had the bubba bud all up a stem before, and I have a few that are filling in the entire stem and im just starting week 3. I am dealing with some spotting on the some of the feaves. I put in gravity and it seems to be a trean with the gravity. Overall plant health is off the charts :)

Dizzle, I didn't doubt you for a second hommie!

Im going to say its cheap insurance! Hell if someone can catagorically show me its not really working and I just have very happy roots this time, im game to save the money!

trust me, it is doing some chain buildin' in the area of the root zone that isn't in the constant flood and drain, no doubt about it

Its not bad at all. You don't want to smell it, but as long as you don't stick your nose it, its fine.

One thing to note is that GW is not only Mycos, but alst endo's and ecto's :)

yeah, the smell's not bad at all, and it is full of good beneficials, tarantula works very well also

I use the full House and Garden line, minus drip clean. So for roots its root excelurator and Great White as reccomended by house and garden. I feed those and the house and garden enzymes Sweet Grape. I also add trace amounts of Gravity from Humbolt Wholesale. At the very end add humbolt Nutrients SnowStorm, but realize you have to throw all tubing away if you do. You should throw tubing away every run anyway. :)Happy Growing!

Hey lost a few ?'s for you
Why you dont you use H&G's drip clean?
Will you throwout the 4" pvc drain pipes along with your tubing?
Whats in the humboldt nutes that effectively ruins your tubing?
I know dds recommends the physan20 to flush the system between cycles, do you think this would save your tubing?
Are you using the hydrofungicide dds recommends this cycle?

Can't argue with success, hyrdoton has so many pores I gotta believe bene's are setting up shop in there and colonizing the root zone. You have any root porn for us...?

KP - The snowstorm Ultra Makes bacteria grow in the lines. Honestly for the 40 bucks in tubing, ill probablly change it out. It only takes about 30 min to retube the whole system. Cheap insurance?

Im not using the drip clean because im not using the drip this run. Ill probablly change it out next run to run it to see. My thoughts is that the roots will colonize the basket better, but im really unsurre of how effective it is once the plant is established. If anyone would like to go into the pro's and con's of this im all ears :)

I'll try to get some root porn up later.

also just to add. Im loking for diffuser tubing, the soaker tubing is NOT working out. Not enought bubbles. It works great in my 5 gallon buckets, just not in the tubs...

this company is in Colorado has good tubing, 200 foot roll for $287

not a bad price all things considered

Yo Lost, you gotta match up the air pumps with the air stones/hoses. If you have too much hose (too many holes) or too many air stones or too big, there's not enough pressure for it to work effectively. You might need to get an extra air pump or bigger one...I might have to do the same thing with the huge air stones i'm using.

That aqauticeco website has a ton of good stuff. They even sell silicone diffuser hose in small sections.

edit: aquaticeco.com didn't have the silicone diffusers...it's this koi pond place but they don't list any prices.

Hey lost I agree with the soaker tubing conclusion, I was amazed it kicked out tons of bubbles initially but just after a week its started to clog up. Its so cheap I think I'll just replace it weekly for now until I find a better long term solution.

Replacing all your tubing at the end is a pretty cheap cure to that snowstorm problem, but I would still run the physan20 thru so you don't have to replace all the fittings and valves as well...
