remember GB Hydro has Ca in it (2-3% I believe).

Could be. Also the yellowing was prob from it dropping the PH in the root zone and locking out other things.

100-110 ppm of N (N03) max in flower. Think I run right at 103 ppm. 1:2ish N:K. 3:2ish- 2:1ish N:P and you are gravy. Hit that hwoever you want. Fewer bottles the better. As far as bloom boosters only one I would suggest is mag sulfate (epsom). I'm not a believer of PK Boosts.

Media PH could very well be swinging hard as well. It was bothering me how perky they got after watering, like it was too high of EC in the media. When it was getting 2-3 feedings a day.

im down to be lazy and cheap when the harvest is good/great.

Some more Ammonium info.

~When NH4+ is taken up, the plant releases H+ in order to maintain the plant’s electrical neutrality, which causes a lower pH in the root environment.

~Nitrates synergistically promote the uptake of cations, such as K, Ca and Mg, while ammonium competes for the uptake with these cations.

Yah... I would have never figured that out on my own lol.

Quick Q:

The calmag/hydro Growbig mix in the res. Ph went from around 5.8 to 7 over night. (no ph adjustments) - is this what they mean when they talk about with letting it buffer. Then you can ph the res to keep it in balance?

plants appear to be responding well to the new nute mix. Keeping a super close eye for any cal/mag def.

Ph right before feed and you won't have to mess with a res. If you are doing auto feed and need a res. Add 1/2tsp per 5 gal of baking soda to the water then add the nutrients and then ph down.

Before that aerate the water well for a few hrs after it comes out of the tap that will ensure it has reached equalibrium.

I should clarify you can mix the res and just ph what you are feeding as you use it.

ty - once everything gets going strong again. Then ill setup an auto feed system, with a waste water pump to waste water res.

So thats helpful to know.

Phosphorus deficiency?

Just to give you an idea this is Grow Big Hydro by itself @ 10ml per gal Works out to 292 ppm plus starting water. That is a little more where you want to be @ 7-10ml per gal depending on starting water. 10ml being RO water. Way better ratio. Reg Grow Big IMO is trash unless using amended...

That's the post I couldnt find. The issue is the ratio with GB Hydro is good as a standalone but the Fe (Iron) is high so running the nutes up to like 700-800 ppm for flower will most likely see a lockout from the High Fe. Would work great if you were supping something Cal Nitrate along with a K/Mg source (cheap booster without a bunch of P - even MKP but thats a number cruncher). Then again I'm a salt head so can't really say another cheap bottle you could pick up on the fly without really looking into it. If they had run the micros a little lower GB Hydro would be one of those 1 and done bottles.

Now how high you might be able to run it I can work out in a little. You are on tap right? Know the PPM of starting water or have access to a water report? That will come into play a lot specially with stuff like Ca and Fe. About 5 ppm of Chelated Fe is about the upper limit I would run.

Edit: I also need to check if I matheds that right in that breakdown.

Potassium sulphate maybe? That's cheap and easy to get. Then use combo of magnesium nitrate and cal nitrate?

Can avoid phosphorus that way but again would have to run numbers

I think the grow shop down the road sells raw Potassium sulphate, can also grab it online. Yah its cheap, and i do like extra sulfur for the smells.
