I never grown roses, you? Didnt know that but not suprised alot of plants have this survival instinct of stratification. If they germ right before the vinter without making new seeds the whole spieciec is doomed :D

Btw had a neighbour that used to make lemonade out of roses, tasted incredible!

Not yet. I harvested the seeds last year. I am putting them in stratification next month, from what I understand germ is 40-60 days with like a 20% germ rate.

Damn thats cool hope you get some nice roses its a beatyfull flower, or is it a bush, idk but its nice. Yeah mine redwood seeds are 60 days and even lower germination rate, got only 40 seeds hoping atleast one pops. Im thinking maybe growing some poppy seeds outside this summer. Make a tincture and keep it as a medcine. Maybe even try smoke some

No I havvnt. I heard Graham Hancock (an author) speaking very keenly about that strain he said its was a very creative strain and that he wrote all his books smoking that so I decided to try it. Its a skunk nr1 pheno, be warned though I heard i smells ALOT during flowering, didnt know this until later when it was too late but now its too late to change my mind.

Hahaha that's Fn hilarious. I bought a couple different breeders versions of cheese a few months ago after listening to Graham talk about it on the JRE podcast. I loved smokin the Exodus cheese when I lived in England for a year in '98. Such an awesome smelling strain. Havent tried to find it in a while because all the versions I've tried outside of England seem to be bad imitations, with the exception of a BF Blue cheese cut I had a few yrs ago. It had more blueberry obviously but also definitely had that authentic cheese funk. As does the cheese I'm growing right now from Dragons flame genetics. Very legit smell, but the proof will be in the smoke.. Only a few weeks until I get to sample it.

Hancock rocks btw. I loved the podcasts with him and Randall Carlson.

Nice man, I've been meaning to grab a couple of his books..

Here is my cheese, its officially called "Dragon Cheese". Its got the long sativa leaning leaves I remember and just reeks like cheese. Bud structure looks correct from what I recall of it also.

And yeah, she got a bit overfed.. I was having ppm meter probs.

This was the top bud a few weeks ago

And this was the main cola a few days ago. About another week till harvest I figure.

The original Exodus cut was a hybrid about 60/40 IIRC. I knew a grower in the UK that had it and his cut was definitely sativa leaning. But that was a clone only cut, now that we are all dealing with breeders and seed versions there is bound to be a spectrum of hybrids out there. I was just happy to see leaves and bud structure that reminds me of the cut my buddy in Glouchestershire had. And the smell is on point too. Waiting with baited breath to smoke this funky shit lol.

Is the cheese pheno very different from the skunk one? Because the dragon cheese you have there doesnt look anything like real skunk. But i have never seen a cheese plant.

I believe It is different. Or at least the only ones I could say were legit cheese were anyway. It was a pheno of skunk apparently though. But Skunk #1, which funny enough my Bud in Glouchester also had was different. The skunk leaves had much sharper looking sawtooth blades on the leaves if that makes sense, and they were a bit fatter. Similar, not exactly but similar to the platinum cookie leaf in my avatar. The cheese had more slender leaves.

The leaves look like skunk to me but the bud structure looks like an indica leaning og. Pretty much the opposite structure to the skunk i remember.

Skunk grows in a spiral around the stem i thought. And eventually links up for long buds.

You could be right, I'm no skunk expert, or cheese expert for that matter. Just going based on the cuts I saw 22 years ago which I was told were exodus cheese and skunk #1. lol
Again, every cheese or skunk I've ever grown trying to find what I smoked in England has turned out to be a fraud. So who is to say really. You have much more experience with the real skunks than me. I smoked a lot of it, but havent grown a lot of it.

No I havent grown it personally. It filled the growroom in colorado i frequented. thats where I have seen it. Other than that i have only grown crosses. Like g13 skunk. But came out with that sativa structure I mentioned.

Yeah the skunk 1 and cheese I remember from the UK were both sativa leaning. The cheese I just remember having smaller serrations and a little more slender leaflets. And I just remember them having this chunky clustered spire look to them. But again I was like 19.. My memory plays tricks on me sometimes lol.

And it would be wrong of me to say my cheese is exactly the same, it's not, but it's got the smell I remember and very similar attributes. But it is a hybrid so it's got other shit in there, Blockhead, Blueberry, Cheese surprise... Its a bit of a mutt. But it sparks a memory of a plant I loved, Its got a very old familiar smell. Like seeing a mothers eyes in her offspring lol.

Also for perspective sake, that last pic of the dragon cheese cola there is taken from above. That branch is tied down horizontally which changes the visual impression of the growth structure a bit since all the buds are growin up to the light sideways off the branch. I have no idea how it will flower upright since all the branches are tied flat.

I know what you refering to I think thats very common amongst sativa strains aswell when there is space between every node intervall, one node on left then next little higher on the right side etc. Funny u mention that been years since i had a strain like that, mostly cuz i aint got time for the long flowering sativas.
