What you're seeing is pissing match on BOTH sides, and trying to make any one of them look any worse than the other for any reason other than those of ideology is completely frivolous and impossible. Hence why I'm on the left--I'm an atheist, an aspiring scientist, from a low income family/area, and I'm a college student with nearly 100K debt.

These are all things which republicans have no interest in addressing or respecting about my American experience.

I appear to know something which they don't--which is, of course, that neglecting the most needy of citizens has never worked out well for any country in all of human history, ever. It ALWAYS came back to bite them in the ass.

Ah these are the parts where I love ya squiggly. This is great insight and very true. I am putting a student through college next year and holy shit!!!!!!Tuition has gone up so much in three years since I was last at University it is appalling. One must wonder when we will get to a more European secondary education format, at least Northern Europe where education is basically free so long as you are able to test well. You see we have problems when people are well educated such as yourself, and I am going to assume that you did at the very least fairly well in school, get out of school and are forced to figure a way to pay for your shit.
I think that the right has long forgot the need for education, shit they are calling everyone with good educations "elitist" (regardless of the obvious hypocrisy) and at the same time are trying to have less teachers in classrooms.......shit had Newt got elected we may have even seen the poor children 10 and under working for their "privilege".

The right is awesome at soundbites and basically distorting reality to get out whatever they are trying to say and have their followers brand it. Shit they are fabulous branders, they have been able to brand the poor as something to be ashamed of, regardless if a significantly high number of people live in poverty. They have been able to make people want to lie about their social position, they are able to do this by credit and other illusions, but most importantly the "average joe" will do anything not to be branded poor, even/especially lie to themselves. The daily show was quoting a poll about six months back that stated that 19% of Americans believe they are within the top 1% of wage earners in America. 46% of Americans under 30 think they will one day be rich. If there is anything we can learn from the right it would be how to manipulate the populace, but do so benevolently.

P.s.: I know some people here in cali doing some amazing things as far as r and d for cannabis genetic profiling. Have you any interest in pursuing something of the sort? It would seem like a no brainer for someone with a chemistry background and love for cannabis. Just a thought.

Hey, I was just wondering, the weather is really good and I would like to "Bounce" from So.Cal for A while and do some surfing in South America and Relax and leave Stress and worries behind. Does any body know if I could just abandon an old beater Honda I have in
El Centro, back pack across the border with my long board and Maybe become A Mexican Citizen? I wouldn't want to catch no heat from the Government down that way... I'm not worried about drug cartels or anything like that because I hear guns are plentiful... I can defend my self. I just need to know if they would treat me as A citizen? Could I own property if I am productive and find an area I like and just live there, Maybe A dual citizenship or something? Any info would be greatly appriciated... Thanks in advance!

How did your Parents and their parents ever "Survive" without "ObamaCare" "Welfare" "UnEmployment" and "Free Education" This is not ment to be insulting in any way... Actually my parents had the best almost free public university system in the world in the time period they went to college. And many families had medical coverage back then as the jobs provided it. The jobs paid higher compared to today's minimum wage as well, inflation adjusted.

And just because someone survived without something doesn't mean that they wouldn't do better with 'that' something.

Considering no one has gotten the chance to use Obamacare how can you even compare having Obamacare versus not having Obamacare as we have no known medical statistics with Obamacare implemented.

You do realize education cost more now then it did then, so why do you say they survived without it, they actually had better education and more funding then we do today....

How about donating the car? Or better yet sell it instead of littering the streets with your garbage.
Marry a young woman down there and you'll be treated much more like a local, if you don't speak the language and look way out of place, odds are you won't be treated as a citizen. You could own property if you had money, but it's tough to make money there unless you have a niche. Make your money here and buy down there, learn from the natives...

I was just going to leave the key's in the ignition with the signed pink on the seat... Travel light and sell my board when i'm done and fly back...

I want to walk across, cars are problamatic in Mexico when they are from the U.S. I have done this before and if the Federales pull you over with your Ca. Plates they try to Fuck you out of all your money right there on the spot. They roll with M-16"s and barter with you for cash to not hassle you. It's not like driving around here man.

Anyone here in the USA or California especially had amazing university system that was well affordable from 60's, 70's..
My relatives came from another country too as I'm not native american. Had both side of the family come through Ellis, their children and grandchildren got the amazing Cali university system..that was my main point.

p.s. It started that way for a lot of people...
Also, my relatives were getting shot at and prosecuted as they ran for America and only some of them made it onto a ship that brought them here...not saying it's all pretty. But saying America has offered and allowed many people a beautiful life compared to where they came from and how the people get treated by those govts...

I am. I just don't know where to put my foot in the door--I'm a bit removed from that scene here in Chicagoland.

I even have several ideas for genetic modifications which could be made to greatly increase oil production (would create an extremely high yield hash plant).
