Apparently, I should have chopped more...
DSCN8909
50 mph wind broke cotton twine that'd been holding it up for 50 days. Doesn't seem to be broken.

In S. Oregon our former sheriff took a lot of heat for hiring his buddy's helicopter company and even going into California to help the Siskiyou County Weed Patrol so now with it being legal it would be hard to tell legal from illegal grows.
It rained most of the weekend and forecast for more with Friday at 78 and Saturday and Sunday 80. My son is panicking and wants to start today. We'll see.

Tough one GoldNBoy, we got that wind too but didnt lose any branches.. hortinova netting man, it aint that expensive.

We are pulling the last tops today so we can start tarping, meant to freeze tonite. Weve about half way done.

It's a crazy sativa dominant.

We should be above freezing, just enough so I can have some color & density.

If you knew how hard it can rain herebouts and if you ever grew monsters you too would cover...
Or just let the branches break to hell........

Or you could wrap them properly, right? You guys are not saying it's impossible to properly stake a plant are you? I worry about too much moisture, not my plants falling over. Basic stuff when outdoor gardening.

Hope your season is going well Chickenman. I don't know how you deal with all the kids on this site.

Do you just come here so you can measure your Dick? Get the hell outta here troll dog you give people in cali a bad name with Ann your bull crap post feel free to cry to whoever ya want .

Because I laughed at the plastic...... You're a fool. But do you feel better now?

Laugh all you want.

They are actually covered because of FROST. Our nighttime temps have been in the 30's for a good 2 weeks here. Without the cover I'd have to chop it all early. The covers will also allow me to heat the space and extend the season so the Cherry Slyder can fully finish. We don't have the luxury of a long growing season here like Cali and other areas do.

The rain protection is just a bonus....as is the HAIL protection. I lost 12 of 24 plants last year to hail so I made sure there was no repeat this season. (thus the cages up and over each plant that are easily covered if shitty weather threatens)

and guess what? NO FUCKING LEAF BLOWER NEEDED! hahahaha....

34F out there right now...and them bizzitches are still chuggin along. 3 days of this and we are back into the low 40's for lows and 70's for highs.

And you chopped WHEN? :D

best of luck on the finish Colorado....

EDIT: 31F.......... please keep laughing....

So somehow you are keeping the plants warm with that little plastic top? Hail I can see, no doubt. However my covered greenhouses, with the plastic pulled down and closing the room 100%, I maybe keep the temps 1 or 2 degrees warmer than outside. Been in the 30's here also, with rain, no early harvest yet. Have some strains that will go till Nov.......... Also just replanted my dep garden, and the plants don't need any babying. Good luck on your harvest, and yes, I still think the plastic is silly. Not you should feel like an idiot, or anything disrespectful, just silly from my point of view.

I should have also mentioned I have 12mil double woven plastic. Supposedly the best GH plastic for keeping in heat without having to double layer and air insulate.

What the plastic does is help keep frost off the plant. Frost is the killer..
Also space heaters under plastic are very effective if possible..

Solex GH cover
We really like.
had ours 10 years or so, still good, had to screw back down but it is amazing..
De fuses light to ideal spectrum..
Good insulation..We have very high winds and lots of sun in the oh so high mountain desert..
We got it when it first came out and now the price has doubled since the green rush...

See I learned it's nice to be nice.
We all have our ways.
I take all info in be it right or wrong. Process it then do my thing.
Share what we know, really nothings silly if it works for you.
It may not work for others but we learn by trial and error and as long as we survive and thrive and keep growing monsters and not stress about little shit because come on now we have it made compared to a lot of folks..
Them folks in the South Island of New Zealand would kill just for some trim..
No one had anything according to local stoners.
One kiwi gifted my friend a bag of leaves, crisp and dry..lol we huffed it you bet...
Sall good ya all.....

Got down to 34. the tarps worked nicely, but probably werent needed. Would have been needed if I didnt use them, thats how my luck goes.

FWIW, I think sky did a good job with his plastic covers. It doesnt have to be pretty or impress the neighbors, it just has to work.

Pre hooped with grasshopper netting under the plastic.
The netting is awesome keeps most hoppers out, must squish many trapped inside daily but over all it helps keep hopper damage to a minimum would protect from hail, offers a bit of shade, protects a tad from wind.

Looking good CM. Those Cheddars look like they plumped well. She's definitely a squatty bitch.

S'posed to be even colder tonight, boys.... We will take the remaining girls that are playing in the woods...(covered but definitely frozenated) and will tap a few separate circuits for (dual) space heaters for the big girls just to ensure there's no further fun or damage.

Time to put on the Edward Scissorhands..... holy fuck. "I've got blisters on me fingers"

I'm really digging the solex. When I grew outdoor and when I used a clear plastic covering I would get so much more larf and leaves. The buds are more dense, trich developement is great, and trimming time is down maybe by half per amount trimmed. We've had 100+ mph winds in our canyon, still holding strong.

Am I the only person here with real life experience camping out in the rain? Any little plastic tarp overhang becomes extremely valuable property. My plants are caged and netted but the rain still pounded the buds. I would have paid good to have those tarps offering some protection. Not everyone is in a position to have a greenhouse built and we share our methods of dealing with stuff. Keep up the good.

The amnesia haze wow.
When it first started to flower I thought skimpy..
has filled out insanely and still has a way to go.
Think those were from seed correct?
Everyone is a bit different..
But all are monsters..

Whaaddda fuckin crazy day yesterday was. I think I about wore the wife out chasing me around.

Took the last 12 (OK, for legal purposes it was just one big plant) down that were hiding in the brush. I never thought these would do so well. A great problem to have, for sure...especially since they were a bonus/were clones I could have easily tossed. I hope the rest of you who received a few of these had as frosty of a go as I did this time around. That Cheddar is a floppy and somewhat larfy girl if you just let her go....but damn...talk about some nice frosted to fuck "trim" for da hashish.
The weather was nice so we did a field trim...taking off all of the fans and anything else sticking out on a stem while sitting in the sun. Sure made the final cut into the ziplocs destined for the freezer an easier go of it.....and rough trimming sure goes faster than that serious manicure stuff...

It's a good thing I bought those 2 new chest freezers last week. Between the trim and the veggie haul for the garden...wow...

After fuckin with the weed it was time to address the outside garden. The freeze trashed the leaves on the 'maters but the vines were still OK....so we spent the afternoon taking down vines with green/blushing tomatoes and carrying the entire vine into the GH to..hopefully...continue to ripen. I've NEVER seen so many tomatoes...and I'm NOT joking. WTF was I thinking? LOL. There must be 4-5 bushels/1000 or more tomatoes in there. Just fuckin NUTS. Totally.

The big girls got the full-on treatment....warm as a bug in a rug via separate space heaters and small fans to circulate things. No signs of damage from the frost-fest yesterday AM.

Of course...it was only 39F last night..... a full 13-15 degrees warmer than the previous night. Good old Mom Nature just wanted to see us jump/hop/freak I guess.... and that we did. Started the day at 9AM....ended up back in the house after trimming for 3 hours on top of all of the other running about at 10:30PM.

Gonna start taking lowers from the big girls today. >Serious< frost in there...... glad now I just let em go and didn't do a big trim inside/underneath.

Let that amnesia go, CM. She will plump well the last few weeks and should frost up like a monster. And YES....from seed.... as were all of those that were in the box I sent. In fact, they are all s-1's I did in house from plants that impressed me in one way or another. If anything truly turns your head I have more of the same in seed form you are welcome to for next year/etc.

Talk about "when it rains, it pours...."

Being able to passive aggressively insult someone is an art form that not very many people are good at.

I see what you did there.......The student has become the master.
