I’m brainstorming so maybe you guys can throw some ideas out.
My groom is 10x12x10. Insulated aluminum stud structure detached from my house.
After I chop this run I’m throwing drywall up and throwing a few more outlets in/painting and I’m thinking how to set up the intake/exhaust/cooling
I have (2) 12” can fan
(1) 6” can fan
12k btu standing ac unit.
Currently 2k digital se hps/mh.
Going to 2 de in near future

I want to utilize the 12” can fans but won’t it completely negate the ac?
Winter time I could do it without the ac but during the summer?
With those parameters what do you guys think?

In my 10x10x8 I can keep temps under 80* with 2 8" exhaust duct fans and passive filtered intake. 1 fan on a timer the other is on a thermostat controler. My lung room stays around 68 - 74, in the winter I vent back into my house and in the summer I just vent outside. I hang 2 carbon filters in my flower and draw through them.
It was a game of trial and arer on my part and I got lucky, it works.
I don't know if this helped but that's what I got.

No definitely bro.
Shit ideally that’s what I’d like to acheive. With no ac that would be great. And I think I can acheive that with room to spare (for a little added light/heat) with 2 12”. Here’s the thing
On the back of my dwelling is a “shed” type area built with plywood and 2x4 built off the back of my groom. So one wall is the groom outside wall. That’s where all my stuff exhausts now...
Problem is it’s just wood outside right now. Do you think I could insulate it enough to make a lung room of sorts?

I could use the 2 12” fan as exhaust in 2 top corners (with duct) exhausted out to the attached shed. For that to be permanent tho I would need to insulate and stabilize the temp of that area.
My thing is that makes my AC moot no? If say I needed it I would need to close off the fans so they don’t exhaust all the cold air out right?

The thing I have going for me is I am in the bay are so I do not deal with extreme temps. At all. Lol. Maybe a week or so a year we get a major heat wave but other than that outside temps are mild as can be. Heat and cold wise

Sure but do you need to insulate it?
So in the shed I would cut 2 12" holes down low mount a hepa filter and use that as passive intake. Mount 2 carbon filters on the ceiling, mount the fans in or outside of groom sucking hot air out of the room. Keeping in mind possible light leaks.

Ideally, (when the flower room is otherwise completely done, and possibly expanded a couple more feet. Lol) I would like a mini split. I like total control.
But that’s when it’s all done.

So. I should put this

I built it so for me to extend the width is a one day job.
Remove some self tappers. Run some track. Add a few studs, and put wall back up.
In the next year or so I want to extend by a few feet. That will be at a time that I install a mini split.

Until then....I could use the 12k portable but the more plants I add the more work it has to do and I have 2 12” can fan collecting dust.

And here we are. Hahah
