I'll give both of them a shot and see what happens. I usually like just to deal with 1 and I've written DCSE. Hopefully they'll make it right if they can. Idk. Bummed out the hippie :(

my useful seeds are almost 2 years old and still poppin’. But i have 10 year old seeds germinating fine too.

Man see that's what started all of this. My house burned so everything was gonzo. I found a can in the barn with these old UFO lights that had a bunch of seeds. I couldn't pop any of them. They were at least 10 years old and forgotten. So age on seeds freaks me out.

Maybe I should not be freaked out.

Yeah well about that...

With all of this solo cup melodrama I started thinking about bonsai pot soil volume vs an 18oz solo cup's soil volume. Surprise! They are almost identical.

I've flowered out in a bonsai pot before but more from an 'artistic, screw the yield' perspective. And I saw what OD was able to do with a cup. And i think I've figured out the root bound nute lock issue in my small form factor grows.

So... I've got a number of strains (list at the bottom) that are the tail end of my stunting project. Been busy busy with work so I'm about 10 days past when I should have transplanted them. So the control group time variable is smoked anyway.

I'm going to finish them all in bonsai pots and see what happens compared to the one PMM fast flowered clone I have finishing in a 5 gal grow bag.

I have clones of all of these well started so if it's a fail, no reason why I cant take some long clones and fast flower them like I did the PMM.

All of them are like miniature versions of the normal size plants. The one that has me stunned is Astro Kush. So far, this has worked. I'll put a tape measure on it later. I estimate it is somewhere between 24 and 30 inches, is showing zero signs of deficiency, and the cola has crowned. Height growth has stopped on both. That is stunning to me.

All of this is not valuable to a grower who has to worry about yield and volume but more focused on seed maniacs like me who like to experience a wide variety of new smoke AND plants. I can fit 4 bonsai pots in the space that a 5 gal bag takes up. I can flower 15 bags. Do the math :))) It would be off the hook to do 45 strains simultaneously. One day. Definitely not now. But that's what all of this experimentation on small form factor is about.

I sent these guys a very nice email about this last order and another issue I didn't talk about here. First 4 Mosca Bubblegum Boogie ended up with 1 plant that was viable. Ran the second and last set of 4 beans... no pop. Then the Useful seeds show up 2 years old.

After the Mosca duds I got jumpy about age of seeds.

Second issue was I had emailed them about their BOG restock. These people sat on the BOG seeds resupply. Apparently Ms. Bog is gravely and they lost their house to a fire (been there) and was relying upon these asshats to package and label for them. Nice packaging and labeling on my seeds... not. He had assured me the strains I wanted would be live by Monday. Sale comes and goes and a week later here they have a whopping 2 strains online ... magically after my email hits them about it. Pathetic. BOG is relying upon these people to help cover their asses in a horrible time for them and these people at DCSE couldnt be bothered to toss some seeds in a cheap zipper bag with ink jet label like they did with the other 2 strains of BOG Seeds that I got from them? Stellar upstanding people right there.

So instead of coming back and asking what I'd like them to do or opening any dialog at all, I get a refund in my cashapp for the Useful and Mosca beans. And then an email followed bitching ME out? What? You're the only seedbank in the US? Maybe the shittiest seedbank in the US but certainly not the only player.

They didnt have to do anything about the Useful seeds unless they prove to be not viable. They could have replaced the Mosca beans and I would have been happy.

And then instead of scoring additional Sour Bubble and then the other two new strains I wanted (Sour Lifesaver and Bogglegum) from another seedbank, DCSE could have had that business too.

Their entire store is low inventory or completely out of quality strains.

So DCSE? With all due respect I was your biggest cheerleader here. But you have proven yourselves to be ignorant lethargic fit pitching bitch people and you can go fuck yourselves. I'll never spend another dime at your site and believe this ANY seedbank discussion here or on GD I'll trash your ass and refer them to my current supplier.

This is what happens when you pitch a bitch on an incredibly loyal customer.

Yeah the thing with BOG bums me out. Back to back tragedies on one of the old school players? I wish there was something we could do to help them. It's not like we all aren't a bunch of growers with our own networks. I'm awesome in process engineering and tech. I'm shitty at organizing people to do anything. I think it's my Cinderella like nature. All prissy and shit.

Maybe we could ask the mods for permission or for them to set up a paid entry BOG strain grow off with some seedbank sponsoring the seeds given out for prizes. All cash collected to go to the BOGs? Then my delicate sensibilities and sweet charming nature doesn't have to be a factor. I'll run up a thread and see what we catch. Would appreciate it if you'd round up all of your peps (cause you do have a charming nature) and point them at it and we'll see if we can catch some attention, positive vibes, AND cash flow for Mr & Ms Bog.

I've grown head bands (purple and green) and different kush strains. The pic I uploaded looks more Headband than Kush to me. Your thoughts?

Most kush that I've grown has that weeping willow quality to their leaves, delicate. And the way the bud comes in is way different too.

Dunno :) I find the stories and urban legends to be very interesting. Sometimes interesting enough to look closer at seed stock.

All I'm really trying to do is get fine examples of new stuff and old school classic hybrids because I have an idea for a small breeding project for next season.
