The only thing I have used that has the knockdown power of AVID is Conserve SC. AVID is a good killer but it's nasty and has made me sick. The Conserve has warnings on it but it has never made me sick. The Conserve only requires gloves, no need to suit up like AVID.

Once you run Conserve SC, you'll never use anything else. Don't use these other Spinosad's, they barely do anything.

I wouldn't worry about beneficial bugs dying. It's only the sucking insects that die.

It says on the label not to use at more than 85F. It can cause burnt leaf edges at 2.5ml when the temps are high.

Ive seen this stuff kill bugs on my leaves when used as a root drench and no foliar. It's a trip.

I like using Cocowet. I tried using humboldt Sticky and its foamy and has Nitrogen. The Cocowet is good stuff and cheap. Ive had damage from Neem oil but not Cocowet. Its cheap and works well as a wetting agent.

Newly hatched larvae are very small little sausage-like guys. They're little pink guys in the pictures I posted earlier in this thread. In Venial's pics they are the little orange sausages. Their color just depends the lighting. When they are very young larvae they can barely be seen with my 100x scope, but I can see them more easily when I look at the pictures taken through the scope. I *think* they can be observed moving when they are toward the end of the larval stage but young larvae can't be observed moving without time-lapse photography. A good way to get a sense of their size is by seeing one inside its egg. I'd estimate they're visually about 1/10th the size of the egg. I have only seen an adult once and it was dead and had 3 eggs loaded in it's body. The adult stage is much larger, like the length of 6-8 eggs, and could be seen with only a 20x scope. I think the larvae are what do the worst damage and the adults are mainly a problem because they propagate more larvae.

I like to use a 20x scope to get a better overall view of things like eggs, but ya gotta take the time with a scope of 100x or higher to really know whether you've got larvae.

Dawn dish soap has been recommended to me a few times, in part for being a desiccant so that the bugs more readily absorb other substances, but also obviously for being a surfactant. I actually added some yucca (natural surfactant) to the mix which required that I reduce the amount of dawn soap in order to not have too much soap bubbles. The isopropyl alcohol and surfactants are added to help suspend the sulfur in the solution. I'm not sure if a vegetable oil-based soap would work well with sulfur considering that it is advised "do not use sulfur within 2 weeks of an oil spray". So no neem or other potentially useful oil sprays while sulfur is on the leaves. The other drawback of sulfur is that it can cause damage in hot weather. When I used it earlier in the season I would spray it at night and then wash it off in the morning before it got hot. With temperatures cooling down now (highs in the low-mid 90's) I thought I could just leave the sulfur on but yesterday got hotter than expected, almost 100, and there was some burned leaf edges on a few of the girls.

Next spring I'll probably be dusting the entire garden with sulfur and diatomaceous earth.

Thats a good video..Thanks for posting it.
My scope is as good as his..and I saw those same little fuckers moving on my plants.
But I think i have them controlled now. and Hopefully the conserve will keep them that way.

I dont recommend Dawn, it has killed some of my plants in the past. It clogs the Stomata. Its not a dessicant, its a wetting agent. Yucca works and Coco Wet both work without any damage to plants. They are cheap, I wouldnt use anything else. I like the cocowet better because Yucca gets really foamy.

Stop screwing around with Sulfur and oils, get the Conserve and be a believer.

Ive run so many things. Here are things Ive tried that work. I like the Conserve the best because I dont worry about getting poisoned.

Floramite
Avid
Conserve SC

As a preventative, I use neem oil and Caps Foliar pack. They help but they never got rid of any bugs really. Once I run out, I wont buy anymore. I will still use the Ogbiowar Nute and Root packs but not the foliar pack.

Who wants to go in on some Conserve SC? LOL I feel that's what I need in my life to fully rid myself of these Bastards. I just can't afford the quart bottle, and it wouldn't even be justifiable with the size of my tiny garden. A quart of Monterey Garden Insect spray lasts me a good month or two already when used consistently. I hope my hydro store carries it and let's little amounts go or else I'm going to have to scrape up that 100+ dollars which is a lot for me at this time. If anybody has some They want to get rid of, I'll shoot some offers.

Trust me its worth every penny! It is a lot of cash but that bottle will last a long time! My bottle of Conserve is expired and its still working!

I dip my plants instead of spraying. I get a 5 gallon bucket and add 5ml or 12.5ml on aphids or mites. That is enough to treat my whole garden. This stuff is a miracle! I used it on Green Peach aphids and they all died the first treatment at only 1ml a gallon.

If you went out and bought some Conserve, please post back on your win!

I'm in flower outdoors so it's too late to use pylon. think I'm going to use the tetrasan. a little more research needed

Tetrasan is for ornamentals
and is a "translaminar" just like Abamectin ( Avid)
It stays in the plant and keeps killing for 5 weeks
