Finishing a round of the Tahoe Alien F2 now. I wont be running it a 2nd time...
Legion OG?
Legion OG?
lol, i feel you. don't know if you remember me asking you about all these hyped up strains, but that is one of the reason why i asked. not just talking about the TA's but in general. from what's been said, there are easily suppose to be at least 2 keepers in a pack of A beans, but have seen some state different lately. don't get me wrong, 10 seeds my not always produce what one's desire, but from all the hype "game changer" talk, one is expected to find or get at least a keeper.Finishing a round of the Tahoe Alien F2 now. ok, cool. definitely going to get some of those in the mix.Yeah, just telling ya what I got out of em. To each there own though,, Id pop the Irukandji over the Legion. Besides the other reasons, From the grows Ive seen of the Legion, I dont think you'd like em...
I think your really gonna like the Banana OG X SB..
Also, dont sleep on those HP13XWraith's my boy ECK just finishes running a few and every single one was a keeper. And hes the biggest pot snob I know lol.
Basically imho , I really have not grown enough different breeders strains to from an opinion on who is a better breeder than who but I can tell a genetic stable plant when I see one and to date I have not seen a Alien plant that did not have big strong stems and large flower structure. I currently have several different breeders genetic's in my garden currently and Alien is by far the most genetically sound plants of the lot.... but I gotta say that as with any plant , or life (plants are alive) you will find good and bad if you are breeding correctly and stabilizing your genetic's before releaseing it to the public it will show in your work. If you are pollen chucking or just randomly crossing a strain with another that will show also , there are a lot of good breeders out there and its are job to find the one's we like or would prefer to grow, personally any breeder that is putting out good stable genetic's is a stand up person imho as they are putting in ton's (years of work) for minimal money for us to grow out. When they could just be mass producing strain for cash as in cash cropping and most breeders are in it for the love of the plant (not to mention all the risk comes with it - in the states) Think about it would you prefer to have a room full of seed free bud or a room full of seeds , that you need to hook up with someone in a spain or some other shit ass country (no offense ) and give half of your profits away and hope you get paid.... so in closing of my rant ...... Alien makes killer strains as do many other breeders and my hat is off to all of them doing it right...... peace soser
Rival, you might be on to something, because if it aint fire i don't see you recommending it. definitely looking forward to the Banana OG x Sourbubble. the person who gifted them to me highly recommends it and from what i see, if it aint fire, he isn't recommended it.Them Uber Dawg and B OG x SB should be fire. I can't wait to see what u find in them seeds. Good luck wit everything, Cat.
hey Dirk, thanks for your input, definitely is appreciated. you know i expressed something to you not to long ago and i really do feel that some strains are really all what they are cracked up to be. this isn't just from my experience but from others as well, but like you said "it's a numbers game" and maybe my # just hasn't played yet for certain strains.what i found is that there are duds and keepers of almost every strain, evidently even the white russian lol, however key is to have #'s. any less than 4 females and really you might as well play russian roulette lol
Mitch, what's good? damn seem like you haven't been on the boards for sometime now man. popping in and out as of lately.Maddddd respect Catdaddy.......those look freaking spectacular was just staring at those pics again for awhile with a big grin on my face so many sick genetics and you did a great job on all of them.....can't wait to see what you do in that pisces thread as well cause your killing it in that tent bro.......is that a 4x4 tent and what size bulb are you using???
anyways hope to see some more updates this thread is becoming a fav!
Im guessing this post was directed at me? Cat asked for opinions on the seeds he was thinking of growing. I gave mine. I never questioned Alien's breeding techniques or his seeds. Some people like some strains, others don't. Ive heard plenty of people rave about Strawberry Cough. I thought is was total trash! But that's the beauty of having all these seeds on THCBay. Theres something for everyone. Tahoe Alien F2 just wasnt my cup of tea. Take Serious Seeds for example. They have the most stable genetics Ive ever grown. True breeding in every sense of the word. With that said, I haven't found any keepers in any of their strains..
I would rather the plants found in a pack of seeds not be identical. In fact, I hope they are all different. The reason I look through seeds(and Ive looked through thousands) it to find that one special keeper. Thats why I actually prefer the F2 generation of a cross. The phenotypic variation is much more diverse. The second generation f2 crosses will exhibit the full spectrum of possibilities between the original parents. Therefore in my opinion, the chances of finding something special is far more likely. I applaud Alien for releasing these in F2 form. I wish more breeders would.
Things have changed a bit from 20 years ago when growers were trying to get variation to a minimum because they were, more than not, growing from seed. So variation was a negative. These days, most folks prefer to keep mother plants and grow from clone, so I think variation(in order to find the special keeper mom) is a good thing in a pack of seeds. Or at least for me it is. Everyone else might have a different opinion though and thats ok as well.
if i was directing a comment at someone in particular , I would quote there post was just stating an opinion and I would like to think that most people on here know that I am not a troll and go out of my way not to feed into trolling as I am here to learn and enjoy the interaction with fellow growers and lovers of cannabis , nothing personal was directed at you Manic was just chiming in with my thoughts , that all..... peace soserIm guessing this post was directed at me? really didn't have to, the fact that you just spoke on one thing specific said it all. i respect your opinion but at the same time i would want you to respect someone else's as if it was yours. no love lost.if i was directing a comment at someone in particular , I would quote there post was just stating an opinion and I would like to think that most people on here know that I am not a troll and go out of my way not to feed into trolling as I am here to learn and enjoy the interaction with fellow growers and lovers of cannabis , nothing personal was directed at you Manic was just chiming in with my thoughts , that all..... peace soser
nah, not even. if you were to check my post in response to Manic's, you would see it's the other way around. i specifically mentioned that it wasn't directed specifically towards A's gear , but yet you only focused on the fact that Manic stated that he didn't find anything worth keeping in the TA, as if his word wasn't even valid or good enough and couldn't get past it because of what you believe. he grew the beans out and gave his opinion on it, is that not good enough for you to believe? if so, why was there a need for post 427? see where i am going with this?Well it seems that my opinion on breeders has been taking personally so for the fact that I stated above , i will bow out as I am not here to offend anyone.... no disrespect ..... soser....out....
that's the goal, and thanks SD.Variety is the spice of life. Can't wait to see what you find Catdaddy! keep up the great work
Well , i never questioned Manic opinion and if it came off that way it was mistaking as my post starts with I have not really grown out enough breeders strains to really have a good opinion on who is a better breeder than who , which really does not have an answer as it a selection process and when have I ever attacked anyone opinion on here - so IT WAS NOT DIRECTED AT MANIC.. but just follow up from his post . i have seen a few others state that they didn't like the tahoe f2 from Alien - I was just stating that the plants are the best looking plants currently in my garden are from Alien (thou I do feel u with the buck or better comment) so instead of trolling ... I will let the lecture be , as I consider you a friend and a good person and Manic if you took that personally I apologize i am not disrespecting your opinion , and didn't mean to I was just adding my thoughts ......"really didn't have to, the fact that you just spoke on one thing specific said it all. i respect your opinion but at the same time i would want you to respect someone else's as if it was yours. no love lost.

imho, there was no need for an explanation, because i also stated that he wasn't the only one i heard that from, so he had to have some truth to what he was saying. and like i said, there are some x's that i've done, and am currently running that's not of A's work, that didn't or was not anything compared to the hype that it received. don't know why some people make it seMem like that's so hard to believe.
your opinion along with anyone else's opinion is always valued, as long as it's unbiased and fair. if the shoe was on the other foot and Manic questioned your opinion or experience of something you personally went through and witnessed for yourself, i would have stated the same to him as i expressed it to you.
as far as you bowing out, that is solely on you. you're always welcomed and gl to you in whatever you decide to do.
that's the goal, and thanks SD.
