Sorry...I meant to ask you BOG...have you ever seen that trait with late pistil formation on this strain (or any others)? I have never seen that and just wondering if it was a freak happening or not. Thanks!

LOL back in the Overgrow days I always pictured BOG as being an old large scruffy man with a big beard and long hair because of his handle...

Like a stoner hippie santa claus, bringing us fine genetics...

Funny what the internet can do to perception lol :)

The myth always trumps reality but there are old pics of me when I was young and quite Bushy.

When you get older the bushy hair starts thinning... ;)

Some of my strains don't like being pressured into flowering before sexual maturity so when flipped early it can take awhile even though my strains are fast.

Sexual maturity is demonstrated in a plant when the nodes start alternating. If you wait until then to flower the flowering times on the packs will be accurate.

This is funny....I was posting this pic in the Fun with BOG thread, not knowing BOG was talking about his Bushy years here. Here is BOG (circa 1979). The young boy is our son.

i was just gonna say this looking at the plant it looks like it was put on 12/12 a little to early as the nodes havent even started alternating yet.

Sexual maturity before 12/12 will help with yield and flowering time but thy can be pushed into flower small if you like.

Underage virgins can look like legal tender sometimes but don't mess with underage girls.

Clones have reached sexual maturity a long time before cutting and clones show pre-flowers so they tend to go into flower faster than seeds that aren't that old yet.

Sometimes fashion takes a turn for the better...lol. ;)

I still do ...... Makes me look slim ....

I thought so too bro! Turns out I was only making the couch look larger!

And not a moment too soon! :wideyed: Haha...that brings back memories! That was back in my college days, so I guess we're close to the same age BOG. Fortunately...the fashions are not the only thing looking better these days! Here's my Sour Grape (same one in the underdeveloped pics posted before). Here's a peek...

She's got a grapey-funky aroma and smells SO nice when you disturb her...otherwise she just minds her own business and doesn't kick up any funk. This is a great low-odor strain! It's putting on more frost everyday too. Sticky as Gorilla glue!Unfortunately, I didn't veg her very long on the initial run. I pushed her into flower a bit too early, but we're gonna make up for it on the next run...which is vegging now! I think she is going to be a definite keeper! Nice Strain BOG!!! But then again...all yours are extremely nice! I honestly don't know what else you could want! I'm vegging her in a huge (for my little tent) 20 liter Hercules Pot. I'm going to veg her big. We're going for a tree here folks!! haha!

S Gr Veg

I'm planning to veg her into a nice full little bush before flipping! Should be a nice harvest!!

@ Myco - Does this still look the one you've got bro?

@ BOG - Anything you can tell us about this pheno? I'm assuming you've seen it before a time or two! ;) When would you expect to start seeing some of that beautiful purple color coming in? (Assuming this pheno turns). Thanks again for all your dedication to your craft & for allowing us to share in the rewards of your life's work bro!!! Best, -Max

DANK brother. Really Frosty mr Frost!

well I am stoked beyond stoked!

Mrs. Chili Bu had seen my 'wish list' for beans from different breeders and BOG was at the top so she took the initiative and 'ordered' me some Sour Grape, then informed me of her covert actions after the fact.

I know they were a myriad of reasons for marrying her and once again she goes and surprises me with this news a few days ago.

So soon (not soon enough) I shall be in possession of these fine beans and look forward to my BOG inspired journey.

An attention to detail, a lot of love coupled with a healthy, happy environment brings my efforts up to the standard of 'cronisseur',
quality over quantity every day of the week rewards our rural homesteading lifestyle with tasty eats and treats year round.

Thank you all for this thread and it's invaluable information.

BOG & Mrs. BOG, thank you kindly for your continuing efforts, dedication, compassion to the cannabis world.

Chili Bu

Max, just saw your Sour Grape pics! It looks much like mine and the tinge of light purple gets more evident the longer you flower her. With mine about eight weeks is right but I have tried it early at 51 days and it needed more time. You have a Gem of a phenotype.

Chile Bu loves his wife and she loves him.

Do something unselfish today... :)

Thanks BOG, I think she's a gem!! ;) Got her on the first try too!! I plan to keep her around a looong time. If you'll remember, I forced her into flower on that first seed run waaay early. This round the clones are bigger, frostier & smell better. She's in the dark now and will get the chop tomorrow. Here's a couple pics. Her replacement just got flipped, with more vegging behind that! Wonderful, wonderful gear BOG!!! Truly as good as it gets and my long-time favs! (Watch for some original BogBubble coming up soon too)!

Max, the Lifesaver is something not that many people know about because it was so popular long ago but of late most people try my new strains like Sour Grape.

The good news is that Lifesaver can be a great yielder and some have this hard candy smell like Lifesavers...the mixed fruit roll. It's very couchy and the high is astral, making people grin and even stagger.

When great growers work my seeds they get the results that makes others try them too. Thanks Max...you are a fine grower and we feel the love man. :).

The Sour Grape has a lot to offer. Great taste. Bag appeal. Potency and a great high...

The yields are good too so it's a pretty good choice for indoor or out.

You know Max I'd just be repeating my self again ...... But what the heck.
Great job on the B.O.G. gear Brother and all the rest of the gear you grow out....
Top shelf Boss .... Top shelf

Thanks brother Z!! Mucho appreciated! I really can't take much credit though. This stuff pretty much grows itself! Like MGG likes to say...I'm just pouring water on dirt"!!

Yessir You put them gals cross the knee, and kept them there. Excellent growing there brother, inspiration indeed. You satellite dialed them girls bro!

Thanks bro! Haha...I live in the knowledge that they can put me right back across THEIR knee pretty quick too! ;)

Thanks so much for the kind words!!! Your Lifesaver comes very highly recommended to me! After hearing you describe it, I'm REALLY glad I'm running it!! There are some amazing genetics available to us as growers today. There are so many great choices, one could never try them all! But just because a strain has been around awhile DOES NOT mean it's not every bit as good or better! To me, the fact that a strain has been kept and worked for years is proof that it's worth it and has earned it's spot!! Also...the fact that you chose to use it in other crosses (Sour Lifesaver and LSD) shows me it must have some great stuff in there!! My plan is to start a thread with your gear, but I'm just spread so thin at work right now I'm having trouble keeping up with all that's already on my plate. I've got some questions and more to say about the Lifesaver...but as this is the Sour Grape thread...I'll save it for then! Thanks again for the SUPER genetics & the love you clearly put into each seed!

what can you compare the sour grape to in taste and smell? or the linage? it have some sour d or something in it???

Hey Ponyboy, you may have been asking BOG, and I'm sure he'll shed more light, but if I'm not mistaken the Sour Grape is a cross of his Grape Punch (that I believe Bushy YOUNG Grower developed) and Sour Bubble. I actually got two phenos of it. The one in my pics is my keeper. She has a grapey-skunky-OG-ish taste with a touch of fuel in there on the exhale. The other one actually tasted like the Blue Cheese dressing at one of my favorite steak houses. They make it themselves and it's not typical. I thought about keeping her too...but there are so many I want to run, and I have so little space.

Here's a couple of pre/post chop pics. I gave her 48 hours dark and I can tell she came out frostier than she went in! Another thing I want to say about your gear BOG is how nice the structure has been on everything of yours that I've ever run! I never have to support your plants. The stems are sufficiently strong to hold up the weight without snapping!
