I’m sure you can even buy some larger heatsinks for next to nothing. But besides the heatsink this package is pretty impressive using the same quality diodes my qb288v2’s are using. First of all it’s not recommended to run quantum LEDs at full power as that decreases the life span of them. Secondly you can always relocate the driver outside the grow space if needed to help lower the temps. A heat sink on the driver is unnecessary imo.

I feel they’ve been given a pass by some and have had a few instances of aggravation when dealing with them.

So what would the highest you would drive a SF2000 safely? I originally had my first one dimmed to 200W & forgot, I just cranked them up as I thought it would be the best for flowering.
The driver is soldered to the board, Re-soldering (If I wanted to do it) would more than likely void the warranty.

Rule of thumb is 80% of maximum wattage for best results. I run my 260w HLGs at 208w (kill-a-watt measured) which is 80%. The problem is when you run them higher you get far more heat and wasted energy. So yeah if you are running them full bore they are going to get hot and they won’t last as long. That’s just how it goes.

Kind of hard to see in this pic but due to the fact heat rises I’ve got my exhaust outlet on the left rear side of the flowering portion of my grow rack so the air flow naturally pulls the heat out and away from my plants. This was done by design (of which I created) and works well. I don’t see a little more heat causing any sort of issue here in this kind of setup. But we’ll see.
