The outer walls are double bricked and nearly 2 feet thick

And here's some timber
The ceilings are 11 feet tall and those vigas are about 12"-13" diameter
We hung all those vigas with a 580 Case backhoe........
I'm still surprised no one was killed or injured seriously:)

This is my build site for a real home. Thats Pikes Peak to the left and Mt Piskah to the right. My home will be on a walk-in basement so the first floor view will be up about 8 feet from the ground. The second level will have a loft and be up another 10 feet from the first floor. It will overlook my greenhouse, corrals and the horse stables as well. (you can click on the picture to blow it up a bit)

That's beautiful dude.

Pikes peak is where I developed my fear of heights. My brother shoved me super hard when I was standing at the edge (I was 10-11 I think) and he caught me at the last second.

Scared the dog shit out of me, and still does :)

well so much for weather forecasters. No high of 50 today (it never samer close) and it is now 23 degrees right now. It will easily go into the teens tonight and maybe even colder. It's sleeting right now. It should be a fun ride home from work with 3 bald tires, lol.

So THAT'S what happened to you Squiggs! JK of course. ;) I been up to the Peak on the 2 day backpacking trip. It was blast...but you get up to the top and it's freezing cold and blowing and ya go "OK, wow cool view but lets go back down where it's warmer." lol.

Man thats some nice work by all you guys, wayne diggin the alternative construction,I built the house i live in too!I keep telling my wife i have one more house in me and it will probably be straw bale and in a place like kolahs, lol.

Damn Kolah you got yourself an awsome spot with some awesome plans! Keep that fire burning.!

It went down to 17 degrees last night and everything is covered in ice here. I started a little fire at 10 pm when I got home from work, then set my alarm for 2:30 and trucked out to start another fire and then fired one more up at 5 am. Temps stayed above 30 and RH hovered in at 50-60%. Cool beans. Up at 6 am to do chores and head out to work a 12 hour shift...then come home and do it all over again.

The shorter days are a great welcome here and I am patiently awaiting Super Skunk to finish. The Bubbashine is kicking in and my Afghans are blooming like mad. DJ's VM should be finished by next March, lol.

Been busy....had to quit the liquor store job for chop chop time. :)

Many more to go until harvest but toasty warm at nights with old Betsy stoked. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. The tipi smells good.

whew...it feels good to get out of that negatively charged vacuum-suction created by that Mr. Squiggly Douchebag.

a lil update:

I am very pleased to have a wonderful Harvest so far. I had no pest or disease issues this year. My only battle was the cold which was simply rectified with some quick thinking and a bit of hard labor. In early Spring I always have a enjoyable time visualizing tiny plants in seedcups growing into mature amazing plants. But what always pops into my head is the end of Harvest when my greenhouse with be nothing but bare dirt piles. It's a bitter-sweet situation which always makes many MJ growers more addicted to the farming aspects of such a wonderful plant. As Winter approaches, it won't be long before my GH will be empty so these last weeks are savored and I''l bask in the glory of a wonderful Harvest.

My comments are not meant to be disrespectful towards the breeders. Nor are they doctored up to be an asskissing presentation and/or sales pitch. I have no affiliation with any of the breeders. Nor do I have any bones to pick with them or do I have any ties to asskiss and alter my results. What I comment about is only based on what I have observed and I have tried to be fair in all aspects of their seeds. I try to explain things that may have been my fault (not an expert grower) and other things that may have attributed to not letting this strains reach their full potential (extreme temps, elevation, etc).
As my (legal) Mexican friend often says "It is what it is."

Sensi Seeds Afghan #1: Wow. I had two of these, one was average size and above average yield, nice tight sticky buds nestled all along the branches. Both were very tall for straight indica and spoutedwith big dark green leaves. The other plant was my biggest out of all of my 24 plants and I've just begun harvesting some of the branches. She'll bring in a easy pound of heavy trichromed buds. This strain kicked ass up here in the high elevation and cold. This would have been a great mother plant and I wished I had more room to have cloned her and seeded her. I haven't smoked any yet as it's still drying but stated as 100% indica I can't wait to see how bad this strain puts me into the Stone-age. I'd grow this baby out in a heartbeat again and they are huge yielders. I'll try to do a smoke report of this strain later on.

Bodhi's Bubba Shine: Out of 5-6? females, I lost one. She seemed always sickly and I babied the crap out of her but she died off. Three plants were in 5 gallon buckets and two were planted in the GH ground soil. The 3 in buckets are still flowering, small in stature with small buds. Not real frosty but they finally started to "shine". The two in the ground are delightful. Big and full of flowers and sporting some nice trichromes they have a soft blueberry citrus flavor and are pretty to look at. Both will be average yielders. I do not think this strain enjoyed the temps or the elevation here but then again I only grew out 5-6 plants so that is really not an accurate way to judge. It was fussy with water and it took me a while to adjust and back off on watering them. It also could have used more fertilizers as growth was always slowed and they lagged behind all the rest of the crops. Even now their flowering time is really dragging on. I have another 6-8 seeds stashed away and this is a strain I want to grow out again using some different soil, more ferts and a bit more attention to pH. I'll do a smoke report once dried and cured. IMO this strain was a bit fickle but it may be offset by it's quality of smoke.

DJ's Vanilluna: This was an odd plant, looks nothing like an MJ plant yet truly a DJ masterpiece. I have 4 planted in the ground and two small cloned ones in quart buckets. Bigass thick purple stems are the trademark of this strain. They grew snorkel looking shoots with deep purple/black foxtail flowers running up the sides randomly. This would be a great stealth grow as even the leaves did not resemble MJ. I questioned this strain through the entire summer grow but now they are kicking into high gear. They have very nice trichromes and a great vanilla smell and will be low yielders (even after being supercropped). But I have a feeling the high is going to be superb so I am quite pleased with this strain. I think this train would do better indoors as the two clones I took were kept in my greenhouse and did much better. I can't comment yet as to whether or not I would grow this strain again until I sample the smoke. It was a fun plant to grow and I would label this strain "exotic." It much reminded me of some of the plants in Hawaii or other tropical areas. I'll smoke report this one once they finish as they are all still flowering and it should be another 10-18 days until ripe. Again, DJ stated this strain finished fairly early but not the case up here. Again I think cold temps slowed these gals down bigtime.

I'll gather up some pics and report on the others later. I quit the licker' store job as it sucked ( I ain't no yes-man) and I have enough dough to get by on plus I am busy as a beaver trimming, sipping beer and soaking up the Colorado sun. Three months of bullshit minimum wage work was more than enough for this freedom fool.

Man kolah im so glad your finally harvesting!Sure seems like the afghan leaning plants are the ones that do best at elevation,Id bet some of aliens or gods strains would do really well for you up there. Its so dicey weather and temp wise at elevation but you pulled it off, very good job.

TY FH..me already gotz' me some Alien strains for the next go-round.. :D ...and yeah the Afghan's extremely well...although slower to mature then stated on this packaging. It was a bit of some extra work getting those turban/towel headdresses off the buds but once removed they turned out nice. JK of course...just a lil Afghani racist? humor. ;) I may have to create some NAI strains so folks can mess with them and touche' back at me.

A big plus was some added ventilation to the GH as I cut more openings at the bottom areas and made a top vent in the roof. Without electric my only reliance for venting was the natural winds. And the fireplace really pulled down the high RH that always spikes up here in the evening during the Fall season.

I am very pleased with this years crop and I doubled my grow from last year which was a bit more work yet manageable.... until harvest as they all seem to ripen up at the same time. Some I just had to cut and hang wet and come back and trim them later on. My redcard renews in April and I plan to up my doctors recommendation plant-count to 50 and put up a 2nd GH. I'm trying to be like Big Krazy KenCaregiver from Kalifornication. ;)

I just trimmed out my best Bubbashine. She had big, tight sticky nugs and heavy as shit. So far she tops all the rest. They are hanging to dry and almost ready for sack-time. I am impressed....and dying to sample it.

Afghani #1: My biggest yielder by far.

The season is winding down, I am chugging along but wearin' a bit thin. I started early this year (April) and have been going for 7 months now. And porobably go into November.

BUT, I am already thinking about what seeds to grow next year. That's if we don't get nuked off the planet or invaded by little green men.
