My Ghost Story:

The event took place in Witch City, Salem Massachusetts 4 years ago today, and involves ghosts, historic buildings, Halloween and cannabis ..and it's a true story.

My medical cannabis doctor (mmj) is in Salem, when I was approved his secretary said if I brought in certain paperwork that her office still required she could put it directly into the government portal and I would get my card sent to me quicker, so I drove in to see her shortly after lunch on 10/30/2015

Their office was on the second floor of an old red-brick three-story walk-up, there was no one else in the office and we were sitting there at her desk about three or four feet apart and she was typing in my info

Suddenly a radio on her desk in between us about 3 ft to my left, with the old style knob that must be manually turned on and off clicked on, and my eye went immediately to it and I saw the large round knob continue to slowly turn on its own and soft rock begin to play quietly

We both stared at the radio for a full 3 - 5 seconds, then we looked at each other and still no one spoke.

Eventually she continued to ask me questions & to input my info and I said:

"Hold on! That radio just turned itself on?!?"

She looked me in the eye and said "Oh my God this place is so haunted! You wouldn't believe what goes on here"

And she went on to tell me several related stories, one which I'll tell you;

she told me that often, particularly on quiet days like this she would hear the latch on the door handle jiggling up and down, thinking that someone was trying to enter the office and assuming the door was locked she would go to open it and there would be no one there; she said this happened quite frequently

So my story is not a riveting horror tale, but a true story involving ghosts, old historic buildings, Halloween and Salem, for what it's worth..? Happy Samhain!

I can tell you what I did: build a raised bed out of lumber. fill it with horse/cow/etc manure + leaves + raw fruit and veggie scraps + egg shells + newspaper/cardboard. chop it up, wet it down, cover it with straw several inches deep. order a pound of composting worms (found mine locally but you can order them online). in winter, I cover my worm bed with the silver insulation sheets from home depot. keep feeding them household fruit/veg scraps or veg plants from the garden...sometimes I grow greens/lettuce just for them. they love old pumpkin and stuff like that. plenty of free worm food around if you aren’t shy...like bags of leaves on the curb . by spring you could have a lot of EWC...i harvest a couple of garbage cans full twice a year!

That's a nice little set up you have going on. Seem's easy enough. Are the worms good for fishing with also?

One more note: make sure any horse manure is at least 6 months old because worm medicine for animals kills earthworms, too

I was just wondering if looking at this description of the medium I bought you could tell me what you think of it. Its a ProMix knock off but it's an international company out of Germany that ships to Canada. It was $30 Canadian =$20 US for a 3.8 cubic feet compressed bale. What would you mix with it to make your super soil?

ASB Greenworld VPW30, 3.8 cu.ft.
Professional growing medium with fertilizer, highly fibrous Canadian sphagnum peat moss, lime, wetting agent, starter charge, perlite (30 %) and vermiculite. Specially formulated substrate for planting and repotting of houseplants, containers and bedding.
Further size 80 L/2.8 cf loose fill

Sounds a lot like Pro mix? and with the starter charge sounds like Canadian Pro mix, cuz the US version doesn't have the starter charge

Thats what I thought when I looked at it, it was $10 cheaper & they were out of the Pro Mix so wtf I'll giver a try. It seems to come back pretty neutral with the ph runoff 6.8 in 6.5 out. Whats the optimum soil ph supposed to be at? 6-6.5 good?

I can't remember if promix was 6.2 or 6.3 but I know it's one of the two that they recommend. I fed mine 6.5, the same as my regular Plants but I do know it's best a little lower
