Hey I have a grow couple questions I dont want to start a thread about and I wondered if I could just ask em here in the coffee shop.

but Now I think I forgot em...lol

Oh yeah,
Im useing t5's to veg my seedlings, but some of them are getting tall (12in to 16in)
So my light is about 30 inhes off the table now...
My queiston is How big is too big for a t5?
I mean, I know that Floro light looses its strength after about a foot or two.
So how tall of a plant can i grow with T5's?

I like to use t5 right up until they are about 16" tall. I *feel* like they develop odd after that. Kinda stretchy if left under t5 too long, weird node spacing... I DO leave the t5s on I just start adding more lighting and other spectrums

I'm with the PeanutButter guy on this one, although I'll let it get to about 20". I mix spectra and bulbs, too. Clip lights with CFLs are the easiest for me.

Mornin' folks. I don't know what Dave roasted up, but it's good!

Ken, sounds like your T-5 is more than a foot above those 12-16 inch girls. Why? One of the advantages of T-5 lights is that they can be kept close to the plants. I try and keep my T-5 no more than a foot above the tops of my plants, this way they are getting the best quality of light and the drop off of light is minimal. It also helps keep the plants form stretching toward the light and getting too lanky.

I have 44 t-5's and do my best to keep the plant grow tips no more than 6" from the lights...in flower, 1K's are 12" from the tops...

Oh my God, I can hardly walk this morning. Dave replaced my Little (Garden) Tractor That Could with a Suzuki quadrunner. I told him a 250 would be fine, but he got a 450. This thing has some juice, and damn it, it's FUN! I keep reminding myself of all the times I've rolled my sorry ass on a quadrunner for getting a little too excited with the juice (I was quad riding when I got myself bitten by the rattler), but still, it's just too much fun.

So I spent most of the day yesterday playing Tractor Woman and Quad From Hell (as far as the animules are concerned, but HEY, get in FRONT of me, and I'm GOING to chase you. Just like if you see me with a hose, don't be surprised if I squirt your ass off just cuz it reaches--it's FUN), leveling out an area behind our lower garden, trying out where I can get the quad without getting it stuck, which is problematic because the *only* way to figure out if it'll get stuck is when it gets stuck, but so far it hasn't gotten stuck. Anyway, then we decided to do a burn so that we can clear out behind that lower garden and Dave and I spent the whole day down on the back 40 and I can hardly walk for my damn knees now. My back last night was pretty bad, I got myself stuck a couple of times and forget about doing something simple, like loading the dishwasher. Much better this morning, thank goodness though knees seem to always be a different story.

But, I had so much fun. :D I wanna do it again ASAP.

I figured I'd get started on some Agent Orange x LSD that I grew out last season, see how things pan out. It's a sunny day and there's more fun to be had, I'm sure.

Finally got some sleep. Its been seven days of gusting to 75. I think I've got some siding to fix when the weather changes.

I don't wanna wake any of you but- coffee is on.
