I cannot get this trader joe's Kona coffee to be strong enough! It's just way mellow, still good though but doesn't make the wee turtleheads poke ou if ya know whatimsayin.

I met some true lightworkers recently at a local coffeeshop, last night was incredible! They've really taken me in as a soul who was in need of light myself, though I try to be a conduit for it. Asking for help is never a bad idea when you need it.

/Man things are moving really fast here.
I have found the best Apprentice I could have asked for. He is always busy and doing things EXACTLY as instructed. 3 months of cleaning pots and doing scrub work without 1 single complaint or questioning when the plant work starts.
You should have seen the smile on his face when I set him to task transplanting yesterday.
Funny story; I always make any prospective helper watch Fantasia. This apprentice was the only one to ever come away with the message I was trying to impart.

It's probably been over-roasted, then. The Kona, that is. I don't care for it, I think it's grossly overhyped, I've had MUCH better, and much less costly, coffees by now. Anyway, the darker it's been roasted the less caffeine remains. ;)

Man, so I've been playing around with the new Canon EOS DSLR Dave got (I am extremely happy he replaced the other one, the P&S is great for most stuff, but for shooting product photos I have had trouble getting really good pix) and having a LOT of fun with it. Got a pair of light umbrellas, the kind for photography, my photo quality has really gone up I think. I still need to learn more about post-processing because the lights aren't quite strong enough, but still, I'm actually enjoying myself.

My father is incredibly gifted as a photog, he was even accepted to a workshop given by Ansel Adams a couple of years before he passed. My sons show much of that same gift, their photos amaze me, often. Me? Not so much! I keep getting f-stop, etc, confused, and framing...? But product photos are a lot easier, you've got a very clear goal that is different from pure art.

In any event, I've got a question for folks about how to go about charging someone for a series of product photos even though I am 100% amateur. What would you do? He makes botanical soaps and skin care, kind of local to us, needs to build a web page and needs good quality photos. I can give compression-free 17.9MB RAW format photos (the new format is .CR2) that are ready for post-processing. Dave was thinking trade for product, and I, frankly, have NO idea where to even begin putting a value on the time and effort, etc. He's got well over 2 dozen products that need to be photographed, from soaps to washes to gels and lotions.

Call around to real places and explain that they are your products and are considering having a product shoot done but dont have the slightest idea what cost would be. Need a ballpark figure to make for next period's budget.

Morning Farmers!
Up with the sun & washing the dirt out from under my nails before I even get my first cuppa joe. Such is the life!
Time to start setting the ground work for my new greenhouse!
*woohoo!*

Anyone out there have outdoor greenhouses? Care to share pics? I need inspiration.

Not Costco but you guessed it. You gotta love it. Low cost and efficient.
3 of these ran $5,500 with plastic. I used the natural wind pattern to ventilate by opening the ends when it was necessary to roll down the sides during the rain. The rest of the time the sides were always up.

I prefer the TJ's Ethiopian, seamaiden. . . The Kona is "tourist Kona" just like if you get Blue Mountain anywhere but ON the mountain, it ain't gonna be the real deal.

G'Evening, y'all! Busy day in the sunshine state. Harvesting, trimming, cloning. Add to that transplanting Mater, herbs & a general yard cleaning. I'm bushed. :dead: I'm gonna get up in the a.m. and go back after the yard work that still needs to be done. But right now I'm gonna do a little reading here on the Farm and then groove & then bed. See y'all tomorrow...

Well, like everything else I need, I'll likely just have to scavenge pallets & build that sucker myself.
(I am the tool person of the house)
Been sketching out my ideas... I think I'll just build a simple split roof greenhouse & stick it on post spikes... might need to dig up some shade cloth as the only real sun on the property hits hard & hot all summer long.

*meh, what's another hand built project*
;)

I've found what looks to be a fantastic bug netting, just need to figure out how much I'll need. I think I'm just going to try to enclose the entire fenced off area instead of doing it bed by bed.
