WHAT??? Congratulations! We didn't even know you were graduating or we would have gotten cigars and made cookies, fer Chrissakes. I'm very curious as to your degree. Magna Cum Laude, eh? My goodness, that's wonderful. :)

I didn't make a big deal of it for two reasons, first I don't rally like to toot my own horn, so I just kinda treated it like any other day, that is until I found out I was graduating with Latin honors. Secondly I have been so damn busy getting the last bits of work and testing done I haven;t had much time to spend here. This is actually my second undergraduate degree. This one is in biology. Next step is on to grad school. Not exactly sure where I will be attending as I haven't applied anywhere yet, but Cornell or Oregon State are my top two choices, within the USA.

The focus of my studies is in sustainable agriculture. I am sick of going to local restaurants and knowing most of the food on my plate had to travel thousands of miles to get there. I would much rather eat locally grown produce. That is just one of the many reasons why I began my studies again.

Thank you for the kind words. I always try to hold myself above the stereotypes about Cannabis users. The reality is many of us are very intelligent and are not lazy. The issue is most people these days are uninformed, lazy and really just plain stupid, regardless of whether they use Cannabis or not. It just so happens that many of those people also happen to smoke Cannabis. making our wonderful plant an easy scapegoat.

Good Morning Farmers....been pondering the ridiculousness of our laws the last few days....

.......let me expand on this a bit...as a California patient, I went to visit some friends in Arizona, near the California/Arizona/Nevada border. We spent the days in Arizona, medicating with no issue because we understand that Arizona recognizes our recs from California.

In Az, we can't go into the dispensaries to get any meds though....so we have to carry it across state lines (potential issue here), although we could drive over to Needles, CA., 20 minutes away, where there are a couple dispensaries and get meds, than drive back over state line again to Az.

At night, we stayed in Nevada - which has med laws, but does NOT recognize our rec from out of state....so we had to be careful about medicating....however, we were staying at an Indian casino - on Indian land....so to medicate there falls under, IIRC, federal law, which we all know doesn't allow for ANY use.

It just seemed crazy to me, all points are within 20 minutes of one another, at one, we are completely legal, at another we are defensible, at another, we may be defensible, and yet another - not legal at all! UGH!

Thanks Prime. One thing my mother showed me is that it is never too late to get educated. So I say go for it, even if you have to do night and weekend classes, I am sure you would not regret a moment of it. I would definitely focus in on one of those two options as they are very different courses of study; mainly at the graduate level, if you are doing baccalaureate level work then you will likely want to look into general biology. But I say again, go for it, education is a very underrated virtue.

Mornin' folks.

On this particular subject, I must offer a rather strong opinion on the idea that we've had of having all our kids go for higher education. I simply know too many who aren't using those expensive degrees. Now I generally advise those who aren't going to land at the top of the college heap to go for a highly skilled trade, just like how my stepson did.

Sea I agree wholeheartedly that many people are doing nothing with their degrees that are costing more every day. But even your sons training is a form of education. And this speaks to my point that it is never too late to get an education. Ultimately any education is only worth it if you are passionate about what you are learning. That is truly the trick to making an education worth the time. We have gotten so wrapped up in the stupid piece of paper that claims you are educated we have forgotten about the actual skills needed to implement the education. This is where I feel very fortunate, my first degree was more like trade training, it was a more hands on education that book learning and also provided leadership skills as part of the degree. In my experience it is these two qualities that are absent from most courses of study. If we could incorporate these two attributes into all levels of education we would see more people using their degrees and a generally higher level product. I am also of the opinion that education is not always found in a classroom but rather in experience. So I reiterate my earlier point, it is never too late to get an education.

Don't waste your money on those outfits. Find yourself a real chef who's willing to yell at you and make you wash dishes and chop onions all day long.

Hail would suck, but I do enjoy a good thunderstorm. We had a nice one overnight by me, I love that deep rolling thunder.

Bump-a-lumpin' it today. I'm getting a tooth pulled and I'm trying NOT to think about it. Root is infected, bone's gone, no saving it. So yank le tooth, bone graft, then implant. It's all going to take several months at least. My biggest worry is that I'll experience what my grandmother did and the bone graft won't take, or I'll continue to lose bone in the jaw. <eek!>

And in other news, I can see the garden coming together, but I still have a qualified metric shit-ton of work to do.

^^ What a trip! Dog & turtle. My mother would love to see that.

I'm just gonna say ugh. No regular food for TWO WEEKS, soft foods and shakes only. They told my husband I can't smoke for two weeks, WTF am I gonna do? I smoke all day long! (I think I told them that when I was going under.) I spent 20mins trying to figure out a way to quickly make a gravity bong with what I have on hand, but I was too fucked up to complete any part of it. Maybe today.

And in other news...! What's in other news? Well, all the seed starts that I fucked up are starting to take off, so guess who's gonna be WAY over her county's approved count? No room for pussies, says Dave! Now I'm forgetting everything else. I want some mashed potatoes.
