put pollen in vial, use fine paintbrush.
Ty fellas so is there a better or worse time in the maturity to collect viable pollen? I don't plan or think I need to see all there colors cuz ill be looking for mother phenos out of siblings? I really appreciate you guys checking this thread out!Yep
I use a small tupperware and a small paintbrush. Tag the branch
Loran has shown me how he does it (Loran is working with Motarebel and that Longbottom Leaf is Loran's work), and he is fastidious and diligent! He's got his different vials (pill bottles, he's not prone to wasting money on unnecessary items), all labeled beforehand, and his paintbrush. Once the males' flowers are beginning to open, he goes out every 20mins or so and taps pollen into the vial/pill bottle. I think he does this so as to not miss a speck of pollen. Then he goes around the other side to where the girls are, and paints the selected bud sites. DEFINITELY keep the branches labeled! He can pollinate a woman with every male he has using this technique. The viability of his seeds is always top notch, too.Ty fellas so is there a better or worse time in the maturity to collect viable pollen? sounds so legit! So how about the ladies after they are pollenated should there be no fan or no spray or better yet how do i ensure no pollen from one male mixs up or male pollen brushed on one female but you dont want it on another for instance growing indica and sat dom phenos in same tent pollenated with paintbrushed various male pollen>? i guess a lil mix and match trainwreck is ok but i would like to take whatever precautions necessary to minimize such a mixup>... thank you SeamaidenLoran has shown me how he does it (Loran is working with Motarebel and that Longbottom Leaf is Loran's work), and he is fastidious and diligent! The males are always housed separately from the females. You can also treat the males like cut flowers, and let them go until their flowers are formed but not yet open, then cut, put into a vase of water in a separate area and let them open up, collecting the pollen.
Just keep fans off, take some care and you'll be good. I learned doing my first seed run that you can't expect good seeding rates if you do it on a misty, foggy morning, for example. The water 'neutralized' the pollen and so I didn't get much seed.sounds so legit!
