Go back to fixing the low ph? I don’t believe adjusting the water is the answer? The change of ph value is only a indicator of what’s happening. A useful tool for sure . But it’s my opinion you will end up burning it or locking it out if you continue with the high ph water. Even though your run off is good.Ya I don't have a ppm meter( yet) but I see how it could be useful. Something else to get, my wife will love that (not) its always something lol. I told her when I got the new light that was it, no more I'm set. oops I need some dolomite, some new root gel, did I mention I need a ppm meter? lol I know they don't cost much ( maybe $20 ) but its the constant I need this or that, that gets to her. She has all the knitting needles and wool she needs so my constant needs for my hobby ticks her off. I need a new bong too but I don't dare push it for a couple of weeks.
Ya I did that sht too for quite a while but moved east and lost touch with my contacts and drifted away from it. It probably give me a stroke now, I get headaches just thinking about booze, I don't think I could do a coke habit again, wife would divorce me for sure lolI pretty much did that from high school right through my carreer feom salesperson to account manager to general sales manager. For a while there i had switched to cocaine but i quit that 20 years ago.
Amen! U just described prolly 1/2 the master farmers here! LolI pretty much did that from high school right through my carreer feom salesperson to account manager to general sales manager. For a while there i had switched to cocaine but i quit that 20 years ago.

I'm not experienced in soil but i do have what i feel is a good grasp on PH and alkalinity and how it works. I couldn't agree more. I know its not popular and its not easily explained but I have no problem sticking my neck out to say PHing feed in soil is 99% of the time not necessary and does more harm than good.Adjusting most tap water will do nothing to change the ph of buffered soil. And over time you may be adding acid (ph down or basically lime (ph up) continually to your medium. That can change things for the worse over time.
My well water is only 150 ppm. I never adjust water or nute mixtures. The ph crazy info with potting soil grows on this site is causing more issues than help in my opinion.
Better to understand the relationship between our source water alkalinity and content and how it reacts with our chosen nutes and medium and how the plants affect it all.
Adjusting for ph is for hydro or coco. Potting soil is pre adjusted for ph stability.
I would say this is my opinion but it comes from professional green house guides and fertigation directions for greenhouse management.
I avoided the weed forums when i learned this stuff. I didnt join in online until i had a couple years of success with my perpetual. So i dont fall into the shortcuts and myths for weed growing.
Also i have been working with growers since the mid 80’s and none of the best weed i have smoked had any of his weed specific stuff involved at all. Weed sure didnt get better over time. Breeders have ruined the best highs for short flowering and profit.
That last part is simply my opinion. But i miss tripping out hard for hours on weed. Most of it now feels flat and fuzzy and tiring.

Appreciate the kind words. I don't think i need to return the sentiment your name around here speaks for itself in terms of reputation and knowledge.Dude you are my go to for the chemistry stuff. I never got deep into fish keeping like you have. You have transferred that knowledge to hydro perfectly. Kudos to your immense knowledge!

lol if you in that boat im in the dingy trying to make it off shore against the current... to modest manI dont deserve that. I am new at this compared to many growers around here. I have a long way to go. I havent even chucked any pollen yet.

I’m oh so close to being on board with you guys! Never a need to do it outside he’ll we just used river or swamp water!I'm not experienced in soil but i do have what i feel is a good grasp on PH and alkalinity and how it works. This sounds totally logical and I would probably agree with you on this had I not run in to the issues I've had this season that directly related to PH. The water at my tap comes out at the high 8's (8.98 when i tested it today) and I was watering my plants with it for almost the entire season this year. I couldn't figure out what was wrong i was doing everything i've always done and they just wouldn't take off. Then they started yellowing, it almost looked like nute burn but was just a little bit different so i brought it in to my local hydro store and he told me its a PH issue. My plants aren't able to feed on the nutrients because the PH of something, most likely the water, is off, is what he told me. So i listened. I bought a cheap GH PH kit and started adjusting the PH for my waterings. After about a week i could see a significant change in my plants. By the next week they were no longer yellowing, leaves stopped dying, and they started to get their deep green colors back. Now at the end of the season I have some decent sized buds with a beautiful mix of light and dark greens, trichome production is off the charts, and literally the only thing that i changed was i started to adjust the PH of the water they were drinking. I also stopped watering from the hose and started to fill my bucket straight from the tap or at the faucet.
