If you have the time and space. It's a good amount of work. Those plants were drinking 6 gal a day. Then you need to replace the water, on top of that balance the nutrient ratios, need massive dehumidification etc. It was about 30min ever single day between testing and adjustment and that with full environmental controllers.Wow , that' over 2 months of growth for me in my peat mix. I'd love to get into the dwc method but I'm going to have to wait until I find a set up at an estate sale or elsewhere. I've seen side by side DWC vs Promix and DWC blows it away.
I started running enzymes after about 2-3 weeks in veg. First time was a half dose, Then 3/4, then a full dose. The company recommends you build up to a full dose otherwise you risk releasing too many nutrients into the solution.hey @Dirtbag sorry to beat a dead horse, but did you run enzymes in veg?
Haha yeah it's pretty packed also. Honestly the more I watch this thread, like you I'm kinda feeling coco is the place for me also.Yeah DWC is in a world of it's own. I've seen others grow with it and the headaches it can bring though. I just know it's not for me lol..
Coco or rockwool is a great middle ground. That said, I'd be kidding if I said it was easy to get into my room now lol. Though the trellis is split down the middle and fastened back together with the blue cords you see. That way I can undo it, move the middle benches to the side and go up the middle. Had to do that last night.
That's what I'm saying bro... Bang for buck and time. Seems to be on point.Highly recommend it Aqua. A simple irrigation system is really all it needs.
I seriously dont think I'll use anything else. It gives me the ease of container gardening and hydro growth rates. What's not to like.
I could always kinda measure growth rates and changes by water consumption. You could instantly tell when the growth rates were picking up by that or any issue if they cut back on uptake simply by measuring the water uptake per day. Great for early indication of issues or nutrient imbalance... In coco also for early lockout signs I would imagine.Something else I'll say, which I was told could be from the enzymes I'm using but I think also just the nature of coco,.. These plants are just BLOWING through water and nutrients.
My 5 gallon pots of promix used about 20 gallons every 4 days. Rockwool was about every 3 days. This round sucks back 20 gallons every 2 days with minimal runoff. Its wild.
I think I showed you this before. It sounds like just what your trying to achieve.I use this at least twice a week in my coco dtw. https://www.realgrowers.com/?gclid=...eY93VyVC-iE_gCRLUO7nKXRIj55SabXAaApp2EALw_wcBLol, just the bacillis subspecies in Great White are both nutrient cyclers and root protectants that quickly multiply in an aerated nutrient mix at the right temp. All you really need to breed bacteria is a mix of micronutrients, humic acids, a carbon source; in this case glycerin and DME, and nitrate. keep it constantly aerated and it should double about every 2 hrs as long as you keep adding more nutrient to it. It's essentially the same way I multiply yeast with a few different tweaks. And the trichoderma should feed off of the kelp extract, though its difficult to breed both bacteria and fungi at the same time, in this case most likely the rhizobacteria completely took over, and I'm ok with that.

I see... I didnt realize the restrictions up there. It looks funner growing your own herd lolYeah that looks like really good stuff. Wish I could get it... lol. So much we cant get in Canada its shameful.

Ive seen the RAW stuff too.I might try it myself someday.I like that theres a veg and bloom formulaI have a 2 oz package of RAW bloom microbes on the way I ordered last week. I'll se how it does, Its meant to have a lot of the same stuff in it. And I'm going to continue activating and doubling in a stir starter when I use it just to stretch it out a bit.
Price was right. $22 for 2 oz delivered. That's about 1/4 the price of great white even. Cell counts might be a bit lower, but whatever. I'm activating and replicating them anyway.Ive seen the RAW stuff too.I might try it myself someday.I like that theres a veg and bloom formula
I have used this also. Its just microbes and food for the microbes, nothing for the plants.Plus theres a preparation for it that takes a bit of time. https://www.soilbalancepro.com/Price was right. $22 for 2 oz delivered.
