Only to kiss half of it goodbye lol. That's one of the things I noticed about the fish scale I got. A few drops of ammonia and I got complete conversion. 1 gram in, one gram out. or near enough... yeah... them were the days. a buddy has seen some...

yeah... them were the days. a buddy has seen some inklings of that real quality on the dark web, but this is neither the time or place to discuss such matters. some things best be left as memories, as they say.

I'm curious what would be the reason to mix 50/50 over using straight coco? I also dont see why it wouldnt work, aive just had such awesome results in pure coco I dont see the reason to mess with a good thing is all. If you're adding potassium silicate anyway, I dont see what it brings to the table. But I'm genuinely curious..

Yeah it more about curiosity than functionality. Im curious about the fertigation difference mostly. And the CEC I think would benefit but im going to do some diggin and see what i can find out... I'm not expecting it would be better just more what the differences would be

I've thought about blending coco and rockwool crutons.. But again price. Coco is so cheap, and works so good on it's own. Curious to see how it works for you.

About the only thing i can think of that would be beneficial is the CEC. I'm not sure if 50/50 or 50/25/25 coco/perlite/vermiculite Just thinking aloud here in your thread since you have you shit together

Agreed. I left that shit in the dust when I had kids 15 years ago. Maybe hit a handful of lines since then but havent rocked anything since the early 00's. Moving on is a good thing in this case. I'd never say I'd do anything differently, it was a time, but it's a time in my past and I like it that way.

OK i will do pure coco and a 50/50 coco verm. hell lets see how she goes. I have a feeling overwatering may be an issue in younger stages but also wondering if we can get away with even smaller containers and have a more stable CEC? gonna be like 3 months though unless i flower my plants at my buddies? hmmmm do i trust him that much??? prob not

I cant imagine using smaller than a 1 gal pot. That's what I'm using and it looks like I'm pulling 4-5oz plants at minimum.

Also your running BB/Fungi and enzymes to keep CEC in check so even if it helps CEC how much of a diff would it make? possibly holding a bit more nutrient getting less variance between fertigations allowing slightly less fertigation frequency and more economical on nutes?

I think running Bb, enzymes etc helps to keep the roots healthy and clean. Coco itself has a cec but with 1 gal pots there isnt a lot of media to affect anything. By the 3rd week of veg that pot is mostly roots I think. Most of the coco guidelines go out the window when you are using so little coco in tiny pots... Its more like rockwool guidelines that work best in this case.

i'm also all about the coco. but, like @Aqua Man i've ventured away from the light and am fucking around with the sunshine mix. not happy about growth rates. BUT, I'll tag along for the 50/50 test.

The guy who taught me how to grow in coco strayed off the path for about a year growing in that organic destiny mix shit. I warned him lol.. he had it dialed in in coco, but he thought there was something better, as we all do. But we all have to find our own Zen. Hes been back on coco for a few years and just fuckin killin it.

Amen. We all light a hair under our ass every now and again. At this point now it would be hard for me to switch back to anything else.

@Aqua Man Man Honestly man you are feeding and flushing the medium with nutes so many times daily in smaller pots of coco, not really vegging plants hardcore, and running a shorter cycle that you can really skip all of that. That's if you go the smaller pot route. In #3 or #5 I could see that approach beneficial. Not to say it wont be in smaller pots but with the smallers you are already going to have stuff pretty dialed and not have too many worries of buildup and all that. Not to mention the volume you are putting through them.

BTW @Dirtbag Im hitting the last 2 rooms I flipped with a PK boost the first 2 weeks this round to see whats up on that after seeing what you did. Did it seem to control the stretch a little? I always get pretty good stretch (which I like) from the higher N I run which is where the yield comes from for me with the shorter veg time. Some of the shit tho like GMO and the East coast Girl scouts go a little ham and grow into the lights sometimes even when I flip them like at 8 - 12 in.

Bubba cross stretch

GMO stretch (they were flipped a little above the bottom screen)
