I call this photo,
"Super crop and Mantis on Orange Dago" :)

no  and I probably still could. But im trying to keep my plant count under 50...lol...
I dont want to keep clones inside over the winter..Im not "Keeping" anything.
except my wife's Bubba Kush..and I may not even keep that.
I hope to be leaving Cali before the next summer, (might be just a dream)
But, Growing seeds are just so much easier than keeping clones inside all winter :)
i might be sorry...i know..I could let a keeper get away...but..there will be more.
i envy your carefreeness ken. everything is awesome looking but you know that. great stuff.

I haven't grown enough indica-dom or real sativas to make a proper comparison but I do agree with that quote, light feeders in general. They tend to take their time too so in the end it doesn't necessarily mean they use less nutes in total. By the time an indica is almost done a sativa is relatively heavily feeding and may need a boost to make up for the depleted medium. So I guess it depends on your point of view. There are sativas that need more than indicas and the other way around so the best way is still just to read your plants regardless of what it is.

I'm not much of a soil grower, I need a blumat tensiometer to prevent overwatering, but I wouldn't add more nutes than the other plants with the idea to beef up buds of a real sativa as long as the plant is overall looking healthy. At most I would do that a second run to see if it was genetics or a lack of nutrients. It looks great and if there are enough nutrients in the medium it will find what it need. "Enough" being a wide range between too little and too much in which the results are more or less the same.

Addendumb--
Remember, my plants have been inbreed for more than a quarter century,
and I've avoided all Internet Cannabis anything until I joined The Farm;
I really didn't even know the difference between sativa and indica, 'till here--

wow..i didnt know you didnt know...lol

Sea knows..I stole this from that thread
Geo, I also go by bud structure. I'll have to look through my old pix, but let me see if I can show you what *I* was taught/consider to be traits of Sativa-dominant vs Afghani (aka Indica) dominant strains.

I hate growing Sativas.. My wife got some Himalayan gold seeds a few years ago. (land race)
I grew em and used a male to breed with..The buds on the females were really airy and foxtailed...I crossed it with bubba and green crack..they came out airy..then missed a green crack cross male the next year..it spewed and ...and Grandpa Gold still dominated everything.

I will go get a close up of these airy sativa buds :)

I know (barely) nothin',
I think when @Seamaiden needs Sativa info she asks @Jalisco Kid--
maybe @Sativied knows...
Ah, actually @Loran is my go-to guy for that sort of information. :) What information? Or, what's the question, rather?

My experience is with strong Sat hybrids, I have not yet run a pure Sattie. But I sure do want to. In any event, running indoors and out, in soil, coir and perlite hempies, my experience pretty much dictates that the Sat-doms are far lighter feeders overall than Afghani-doms, often a fraction of the demands an Afghani-dom might place.

If the question is about feeding Sat-doms, see above.

Thanks Sea..Yeah..I was wondering about feeding Sats...But Im not worried about it.
They will get what everyone gets and like it. :)

I hate Sativas because the ones ive grown have foxtailed
I dont like foxtailed buds....Unless maybe they were really fat foxtails..then that wouldnt be bad i guess :)

Ken. Looking great this yr ! Can't believe how dry things look already. Will u be fine with water this yr? Best of luck. M

Hi Medusa :) Thanks
Yeah its pretty dry already..I think we will be ok. I havent heard of anyone running out of water up here.
Our water comes from a fissure 500 foot down in the granite..Not sure what feeds that fissure though.

Tis the nature of the beast my friend. Those ropey, sucky-looking foxtails will knock your ass off your skull if you're not careful, though. ;)

Sativas are a head high. Especially when taken before they get completely amber. I prefer Sats @ around 15-20% amber. General rule of bud trichome color: Clear, paranoia inducing. Cloudy, head high. Amber, couch lock and pain relieving starts. Love, Peace & Respect, Loran
