Ok todays update is a two part. The following pictures are the last time they will be seen like this as all the girls except for the runt were topped today. Hopefully I didn't screw them up. We shall see in the days to come.
Here are their last pictures before topping.

Now here they are all with the topping done. I'm not really expecting any of the top clones to survive because I haven't read up on it yet so no clue what I'm doing with them. But if any do happen to make it just means more goodies for the tent :)

I also gave the runt of the group a little support as she was starting to lean over a little.

Cheap and great solution to anyone looking for little support on certain branches or in your case you could wrap with pipe cleaners..

I use them all the time and are cheap and effective.. Plus gives the plant some bling.. So if you have some laying around or need a cheap solution for supports.. :)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XK4A0G

They work in most any solution and I always love some color.. LOL

Great job on the grow log and plants :D

You sure you was a truck driver in your past and not a green thumb grower? LOL

Thanks for the tips @Moto I will definitely read over that link.
So far I have been lucky I think on this first grow and I am hoping it stays that way :)

Top cuttings are the most stubborn to take root. But a great way to learn with in till the plants develop better lower branches to take from. Here is a few key tips for cloning. First is always make sure that you have a nice clean 45 degree cut on the cutting. Second is using cloning gel because it really dose work. Third is warm temps and high humidity for at least two weeks. I use a zip bag for a humidity dome over a four inch pot. Here is a cutting that I took a week ago under her dome.

Keep up the great GREEN work!:)

I am just now starting to do some reading on the proper way to take cuts and clone these girls. My attempt at the topping clones is more of a test just to see what they will do. Four of them I put directly into soil and left in the tent. This was something I read on a post somewhere on here so I figured I would see what it did.
The other 3 I did what I use to do with my pepper plants years ago. I shaved the stalk just a bit and left the cut as is without 45 degree angle and then slit the stalk down the center about 1/4 inch. I then just placed them in a cup of water under a t5 light staying on 24 hours a day. No dome, misting or high humidity. Just placed them on the basement floor with light over them. This use to work well with the pepper plants so just wanted to see what it would do with these. I had also read and per your response @Orcaman that the tops were the hardest to clone so I figured if any survived with this method it might be the way I would clone them just to keep it simple. But I am not expecting much really and am figuring I will be doing what everyone else does as far as domes, high humidity and such.

Here is a short update. I will be doing another update later tonight but wanted to show what the girls looked like a day after their first topping. They have really started filling back in quickly and definitely growing at a faster rate right now.
Here are the girls.

When I plant seeds I don't fill my pits the last 2 or 3 inches so when they do stretch like that I can just add another 2 inches of soil which supports the stem and roots will grow out of the stem u have buried..looking good tho..I'm thinking about getting a small GH ur size for camp
I wish I would have had or thought of this lil nugget of info, I only fill the solo's 3/4 now. Seems silly but I think of it every time now when I start one. Keep up the good work. Can't be much help for indoor, watchin n rootin. I don't know a thing about semi's, I have heard of lot lizards ha ha, I do like them big Mack hood ornaments. Good luck, an better to write too much then not enough....

I would train that last plant too. Only because with 1 main stem it will grow taller faster than the rest. Which could make you flower sooner than you think the manifolded plants are up to full potential.

When are you cutting the lower fan leaves and growth tips off?

Here is a closeup of the runt
20160619 171730

It kind of looks like this one split its own main stem and then just started bunching up on itself. I am trying to decide what to do with it exactly lol. Not sure if its best to just let it grow itself out or to try and train it somehow. The way it currently is growing if it continues I don't think it will yield much of anything. If this was your plant what would you do with it?

Now here are some closeups of the rest of the girls. They really seem to be doing well with their first topping. I am still a bit undecided if I want to do an actual mainline with them or possibly just let them go from here. I may do another topping as well I will just have to see how they come along and go from there.
The clones I am attempting still seem to be holding on. They are still a bit wilted but other than that they are still nice and green so we will see what comes of them.
Here are the pictures in the same order I always take them in.

I was going to give them a couple days before I started removing the lower fans. Probably just before their next watering.
I will probably do some training on the runt just for that reason. I don't want it getting out of control lol.
