Never tried a gradual flip.. I turn the lights off for 24hrs then start on 12/12. Don't forget they can double in height before the stretch is done, mine were about 18" and are now almost 4'
Yeah it will be a nail biter lol I am just trying to get them to develop a bit more where they were last topped. I am just wanting to try something different versus the conventional switch directly to 12/12. So I was thinking 2 days at 17/7, 2 days at 16/8, 2 days at 15/9, 2 days at 14/10, 2 days at 13/11 and finish at 12/12. Because of their current size I am going to change the lights starting Saturday.

I have been thinking this as well.
I would like to see them at each photoperiod stage for at least a week.
This way I could get a feel for what the light is telling them.

I would like to do that as well but unfortunately I don't think I have space for 5 more weeks of veg :) but this will give me a little insight on a gradual change versus the sudden switch.

Just checked on the girls before heading out. They definitely are getting comfortable in their new pots. They grew just over 2 inches in height from last night until this morning. At this rate I won't be able to do a gradual light change and will just have to flip them to 12/12 in about 2 or 3 days. If they continue 2 inches a day vertically they will max out in that short amount of time. Will just have to wait and see what happens.
The tallest is now just over 14 inches and the shortest is at 11 inches.
Everyone have a great day.

I may be late to the game and I think some of this info was in that youtube video but I would recommend using a BTi product called MicroBElift for birdbaths. 1 drop per gallon and much more concentrated than mosquito dunks but not as much as the MicroBElift for ponds.

Nothing much done today just measuring and moving fan leaves and such around a little. They have grown a little over 2 inches vertically in the last 18 hours. At this rate I will probably be forced to flip them in 2 days but we shall see.
Here are the girls today.

Today the girls are 38 days old from seed. I have made the decision to put them into flower tomorrow or the next day at latest. The tallest is now just under 17 inches tall and I don't want them to be cramped on space when the start stretching in flower.
Tomorrow the girls will get there first feeding with the bloom. Then not long after that the lights will get switched.
Here they are today.

If you would like to slow stretch while at the same time strengthen your stems..

Start practicing pinching stems over time and when you feel more comfortable.. :) Just pinch and leave them straight.. Makes the stems much stronger and once you get a feel for it you won't be topping your plant's either over time. :)

Pinch just enough for that pop feeling. :)

No rush of course.. You are doing fantastic.. Learn at your own pace.. Just offering advice to a friend.

Remember practice makes perfect.. Do a tester plant and practice doing only one initial topping.. Then you do pinch and pinch and supercrop methods.. It allows faster veg times because essentially the plant is not stunted while it develops new nodes from topping. :)

Plus better Canopy Management once you get a feel for it. :)

Happy Growing

If you have anymore questions just ask.. I can explain more

Gosh they are looking great, I find it interesting that with your nutes that you start feeding with bloom before they have switched to 12's. With my nutes the plants stay on the grow formula for the first week in 12's before the transition to the bloom formula.

Yeah this line of nutes shows starting bloom right at switch which I am feeding them that today just before I put lights out. When lights come back on they will be in 12/12. It also continues the grow nute during flower as well just gradually decreasing throughout.
