Subscribed!! Oh how i would love to do a vb ibl, and to see it paired with herijuana, ahhh that would be great!

Best of luck to you!

How's the VB's coming along BG? All ten of mine are doing great and had one trifoliate but it corrected itself. Hope you can make the cup so we can talk about our projects in person. If not, I'll still be following your thread anyway.
Looks like enough Bangkok Betty to be entered too.........
Im stoked to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Harry,

they are doing well. I'm having a little issue with them, but they should be ok. I really hate FUCKIN soil. Before anyone says anything. This SHIT out here on the west coast issues soil. It's FUCKIN peat and saw dust.

I haven't grown in real soil since my bust back in the day. The eastcoast is the only place I've seen with real topsoil and non of this crap. It's like learning all over. I'm about to say FUCK soil and never use it. I can't mix my own, because of location and I want be able to till winter. I've tried them all and I've either over feeding them or under feeding them.

Any ways, you caught me at the wrong time. I'll take some pics in the morning. Monday, I'm thinking about ordering a new Cap bucket system to place these in and say FUCK soil.

I'm sure I've got like 10 of them. We should get some female's and males. Then it's a quick selection on the healthy plants and a full room pollination to renew the seeds and share.

I'm looking forward to your notes and thoughts. Glad you stopped by and I didn't know you started yours. Talk about perfect timing. I know last year you talked about it at the 4th of july event. Way cool if you ask me. Feel free to post any of your pictures. I don't have any problems with it. I'm sure the members here will enjoy them

Well, i'm hoping to have the 4th off, but don't count on it and if i show up. It will be a surprise. :) Take care and have a safe drive.
Later,
BG

Well had a nice post about all done and closed the window out. Talk about pissed off. Any ways, here's the picture. I'll post my thoughts and reply later. I need to wake up some. Post your input on the babies. I think it's a soil issues. Roots Organic, maybe a little hot. Water is PH at 6.5

Ok,

I'm a wake now. lol We've got a total of 9 VB's. One of them didn't come out of the soil. No biggy, as we should have enough to make plenty of seeds. If you enlarge the picture. You will see there is a problem. I'm thinking maybe the soil is a little to rich in N. I could be wrong. I'm open to any input.

I'm planning on letting the roots get nice and strong. Once they are filling the cups. I'm going to transplant them into Hydro. Yes, you can do this and I've done it many times. I'm over the soil shit for now. Till I can mix my own soil and not use this peat/saw dust shit. I'll looking at flowering these VB's in a bucket system. They should do well in a bucket system. I will have better control over any issues in hydro. Quicker to bounce back if there are any problems.

I'm curious to the flower time. I'm wondering how long these plants are going to take to finish up. Guess, will see soon enough. I'm also wondering how these plants are going to feed. I've notice the Thai's I've grown. Really don't feed that much.

I guess will going to see a bunch of info soon enough. I'm going to have to watch the height on these plants. I'm curious if they are going to yield nicely. I've got a good idea how the high is going to be, Crazy Speedy. lol

Well, that's about it for now. If anyone has any opinion. Please, feel free to post. Thanks for the kind words and support.
Take care,
BG

they do look a little funny ......

nitrogen or some other nutrient in excess is my 2 cents .

sometimes old sativas germ funny from what i have seen ...

hydro billy in the house ...........good luck on the switch up...

the only vietnamese i ever seen finish was an upland near china border(finnished in 85 days) it didnt look as sativas as the lowlands from like soctrang that i have seen in veg..

any idea on which part of the country the originals wer collected in?????????????????

They'll be just fine Billy..don't sweat it..it's those landrace sats...once they get their roots they'll all take off, albeit some slower than others...even the slow goers will eventually catch up with the others...easy on the nuits like you said...I have some landrace sats going that started out the same way... in "soil" and the whole bit...two weeks from now and you'll see a major difference...oh yeah..pray.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. Just feeding them plain water at 6.5. I'll let them go with that till they get bigger and i see nice roots.

I've had Sativa's in the pass do some funky shit. I'm just alittle worried is all. Kind of like a first dad. These are some special seeds and I want to make sure I get the most f/m ratio.

As for the location. I really couldn't tell you, but maybe Harry might have some info. Check your e-mail. Shoot you some ?'s

Thanks, just worried is all. Can't wait till they get bigger and in hydro they go. I'll have more control and then can dial in on them. I'm looking forward to the seeds myself. These new seeds will give me fresh seeds to run larger numbers in a greenhouse. I'm stoked about that idea and the size I'll be able to push. Thanks for the support everyone
Take care,
BG

Your small ones look fine to me. I had one that was almost yellow in the center while all the others were nice and green. All are in same soil and fed the same. When transplanted it started to green up. 6.5 is a good start.
I start at 6.3 in soil but lower in hydro.

Don't be surprised if the first leaf sets are wide as they will thin out later on. They have an elongated Indica growth structure with fat Sativa type flowers. Yield is very good the larger you finish of course.

For security reasons I don't post photos during an actual grow but will come up with something from time to time.
After I get some work done I'll try and get a shot to show.
Mine are outside and it's gonna be in the 90's so I need to watch them closely.

Thanks Harry for all the info. Also, I understand about you not posting pictures. No big deal and no worries, maybe I'll see you this 4th of July. I know today if I'm going to make it or not.

OK!

I figured out the problem. Today, I had to flush a couple of plants I'm about to move into flower. They are in the same soil "Roots Organic". They are having some issues. Well, I flushed them with straight water that was ph'ed at 6.4.

Well! What do you guess the run off reading was? It was a 5.4. I rechecked with dropper's and I also checked my meter with solution to make sure it was reading right. Now, that's a whole point off of what I should be at. I should be staying between 6.3-6.5 ph range. To make sure the plants have access to everything.

WOW! Now, I've got to get out the old fork and work in some lime into the soil. I knew I should have mixed some in from the start. That's what happens when you get lazy from being to tired. Well, the ready to use BS. Is a bunch of BULL! You should never use soil without adding some lime. Just to be on the safe side. This is the second time this has happen to me. There will not be a third time.

So, my final thoughts. I think the babies are suffering a little from ph issues. Plus, them being asian strains. They are looking ok and growing more leaves. Once they get big enough. They are going in hydro. Not going to risk anymore problems.

The plants going into flower next. Chem Dawg, OE#2, e-32, Casey Jones "Joe's Cut", Heandband. This is going to be for personal stash. Since, I'm getting low on smoke. I'll be moving into the next rotation for seeds. The old crosses and get them ready to make more of the old stuff.

Oh, those wanting some of the Oriental Cheese. I'll be getting the UK cut soon. Just didn't have time to grab it. So, there will be more of those. I'll post more info in my other threads. Not to get this thread off track. Thanks for all the help everyone and all the support.
Take care,
BG

Glad you found the problem! My attempt to get a pic was not successful and became too hot out for me. My methods are different from the norm so you won't believe how big my first two are and only one day started b4 yours. Super vigorous for sure! I'll be transferring to hydro as well.

It's late and I'm beat. Everything is going better. I will try and get some pics up tomorrow. Just wanted to let everyone know. They are doing better and getting bigger. Will talk more tomorrow.
Take care,
BG

Evening everyone. Sorry, for some reason I put the info and pictures in the wrong thread. Here's the update to the VB. I hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe 4th of July.
Take care,
BG

Happy 4th of July everyone

Well, here's the VB. They are doing better and you can see. Some are really taking off and the others are coming along as well. They are growing out of the stress they had. Once they get a little bigger. They should be fine like the others members have posted.

I'm pretty stoked about this project. Can't wait to see this room throwing pollen and the females seeding up. Really looking forward to stashing some seeds for myself and growing outdoors. Going to really push these VB seeds hard outdoors next year.

Well, here's the pictures. Feel free to post thoughts or questions. Have a safe 4th of July.
Take care,
BG

Missed seeing you at the cup as I wanted to compare notes on our VB projects. Looks like you have some nice ones in there! Some with some fatty first leaves like mine.
Was hot last couple days here, so today is cooler and I'll go grab some pics if all goes well and battery is charged enough.

Ya,

damn boss had family come in at the last minute and screwed me. I'm about over this job aways. Really wanted to attend, but got to pay the bills. Ya, the leaf look a little fatter, but will see once they get larger.

Good luck in the heat. It's been warm up here. A far north as I am. I can't believe how warm it get's some times. Good luck and hope the pictures work out for you. Hopefully I will be at the Nov harvest cup. Wish my samples where better this time. Next cup with be some better samples.
Take care,
BG
