Yeti OG f3's
all popped up within 72 hours of planting....I just plant direct into the soil...no soaking, paper towels,scuffing,etc....

a week later

I'll transplant 9 of these today..one mutant seedling is getting culled out.....

As soon as those seedlings were up the tap root is already hitting the bottom of the cup........
ideally those seedlings would have been transplanted a day or two ago....allowing plants to get root bound in organic soil is never good.....
Growing seedlings for any length of time in a keg cup just causes them to stress......

Cuts don't like being root bound either...it can cause them to lose momentum, and vigor.....that can usually never be fully recovered
by harvest
Just because you can grow a large plant in a keg cup,it sure doesn't mean it's going to achieve it's full potential.......

My gardening style is all about getting the full potential out of all phenos.....not seeing how long I can keep something alive in a keg cup

There's a big difference between plants surviving, and thriving.........

Ya I'm not one of those guys either I just wait a little longer than you but only because I'd be scared to damage that tap root...I'm guessing lots of water gets that thing as solid as possible for the transplant. Well good luck with them Yetis I hope they're drama free ;)

Tbh I had my eye on # 2 from early on .

@waayne - copy clones for the strains your running sir , how are they kept ? thou your statement makes perfect sense i sense a big space issue on most parts trying to do this thou I do despise when a cup is root bound and needs watering frequently you can kinda tell its not good and def can't be anything but stressful to the plant

Makes sense...Now, im about to toss all the plants I left in cups too long!:banghead::bag:
and im going to take better care of my seedlings!

Someone should make 16oz smart pots...with velcro..for easy removal and reuse :)

Edit too add; I found some 24oz "Blue" party cups...Gonna use those for my next batch of beans
I have noticed you use the Blue ones;)
I saw Bog write about preferring them too. :p

no watering them heavily would make transplanting harder...They are transplanted with normal soil moisture

Here's a few pics...notice the roots already at the bottom of the rootball...these are not root bound ,but definitely ready for a transplant

every transplant gets Caps Nute pack

They are definitely productive True G
My fave is pheno #2,it's a Chemy, funky smelling plant
pheno #5 is a mix of wet paint and chocolate, the #3 pheno is kinda woody, and hash smelling
pheno #6 smells awesome,a mix of Chem funk and something sweet I can't describe......

I've liked pheno #2 from the start Oom pah pah
It has been a nice looking plant all along, and has one of the strongest aromas
pheno #5 smells pretty wild too,a mix of wet paint and chocolate.....

What's up Venom!
no Blueberry smells buddy, pheno #2 has a couple of tones that are reminiscent of Blueberry
But it is dominated by the Chem funk aroma.....
Good to see you around man!

I'm gonna post some current pics ,so you can see the frost.....

ken I used black party cups once around Halloween ,and nothing came up,so maybe BOG is onto something..lol
Keep your plants roots happy, and it will pay dividends come harvest time!

current pics of the Moon Dawgs
pheno #4
this one is in isolation as she has thrown a few nanners
this pheno smells like ECSD,minus any diesel aroma.... mostly all sour terpenes....

pheno #1
This one is in isolation as well,it has spit nanners for nearly 3 weeks now,but seems to have stopped now.....
not any aroma on this pheno that I can detect......maybe a hint of sour...

pheno #3
this one is mild,a kinda woody ,hash aroma, but very muted....

pheno #6
this one smells awesome, bit is definitely the least productive plant of the group.....

pheno #5
a nice mix of wet paint, and chocolate on this pheno

my favorite of the group
pheno #2
Chem funk aroma on this pheno

these are getting nothing but pure clean H2o now......

Stellar work Waayne...I really appreciate the detailed pics :) Btw what are the bags on the left of the nute pack. They look like either roots organic or 707?
