I didn’t read ALL the replies. If you’re new (1st time, like me), just leave them alone. Water only. I have mine on pedestals that will eventually water from the bottom. Get a moisture meter. Just keep ‘em moist. Also, a buddy of mine (Mentor) said that don’t worry about the cotelyns (spelling), just worry about New Growth. If the New Growth looks good, then she has recovered. I’m new too! lol

See answer below but you also brought in bugs to an area without any natural predators. Prepare to be heart broken.

Both of you guys are not watering all of your medium. Spot watering is a recipe for failure. Crappy roots shitty fruits. The dry back patterns are the same for both of y'all's plants.

You said you brought them inside from outside, correct? Probably mites, fungus gnats, aphids whatever is outside in your garden.

If you would like an easy solution to watering. Next round use a earthbox or city picker pot. Holds like 11 gallons of soil. I would fill it with build a soil3.0 recipe. Pot hold a couple gallons of water in the bottom and soil wicks it up as needed. Plus once the roots get to the reservoir it will choose between water and eating. Makes the plants grow like crazy. Good luck on your journey.
