I think warm/cool mix gives the fastest growth. After 4 or 5 days I add warm. By then I can blast em with the fan and they don't fall down. You got it sir.. I usually do then under a 20w 6k LED. At 10000 lux.
This time 3k at 20-25k lux to try and offset it a bit.
I think 5k+ is ideal for seedlings but at the same time there is nothing wrong with seedlings stretching a bit within reason. It's the internode lengths I will be concerned about.
Only ever seen 1 or 2 posts with this question that have legit stretching issues.
3-4" is absolutely normal in my books.
Yeah I get them on the fan early too.I think warm/cool mix gives the fastest growth. After 4 or 5 days I add warm. By then I can blast em with the fan and they don't fall down.
Really? not when they're babies like that? Do you really put fans on them so young. A prepubescent blow job?Yeah I get them on the fan early too.
I abuse the fuck out of them. Strong stems hold big buds.Really? not when they're babies like that? Do you really put fans on them so young. A prepubescent blow job?
Lol aye.. it's very low and about 8 feet from them but just enough to see the odd wiggle. My humidity is also up close to 70% so no real chance of windburn. Upped the room temp to 88f today.Really? not when they're babies like that? Do you really put fans on them so young. A prepubescent blow job?
Yes Catt right .....He just wanted to show off his hot little seedlings.
Wait till I'm home from my muddy planting site layer I'll show you stretch ......Yes Catt right .....
Yes he has some great video's, I have seen many of them. The point I am trying to make is the stretch ppl post about is not an issue. There is nothing wrong with 3-4". Not a single negative effect.Light spectrum is how you control this behavior.
Let's have Dr. Bugbee explain why:
Can also control stretching with temperatures.Light spectrum is how you control this behavior.

Yup seen it ..he has a great and thorough way of explaining every detail. I literally feel like I'm in a classroom when I watch his videosThere are some really awesome resources out there, but I really like how he shares his results. I've looked at his company for a long time, studying the instruments and replicating some of them from parts so I can integrate them into my automation. There is this Irish guy that uses his tools to evaluate LED fixtures to good effect to help provide a consumer angle on the science, This is one he did on UV lamps.
Can also control stretching with temperatures.
I honestly can't say enough about his vids they are fantastic.
AmenDr. Bugbee has a permanent invitation to my stash thats for sure.
Absolutely. The reason for the 3k is more beneficial in flower. I got lazy on my germination this time so when I seen the elongated seedling I figured I would take the opportunity to discuss it on the forums. Because I see a lot of those type of posts. Maybe help clear up the stigma a bitI mentioned this company a few years ago - https://www.biolumic.com/
They focus largely on seedling quality/hardening. Stretch is normal, but does indicate the relative spectral qualities of the light source.
Not gonna like I have been thinking about UV but not until bud onset. IR I'm still on the fence whether or not it's worth supplementing. If it was built in sure.I use UV supplementation early on to get better structure and control stretch. It also helps with pathogens.
I've grown alot outdoors and always wanted that same stubby seedling response indoors. Nice, fat primary leaves quickly after the cotyledon. That was where I started pulling the UV spectrum string.
60 bucks you can get a black box just for uv/ir diodes. Gots me 3 of em. Does it work? I have no fuckin clue. Sure does make me feel good tho.Not gonna like I have been thinking about UV but not until bud onset. IR I'm still on the fence whether or not it's worth supplementing. If it was built in sure.
About the only thing I will Do is run a negative diff if I flip late or have a real stretchy strain but usually only during stretch
