Got into huge argument today lol.
When will the quality of greenhouse/outdoor flower catch up to indoor? Or has it already?
Any good greenhouse/outdoor guys care to chime in?
I only grow indoors but I believe good genetics and a properly designed greenhouse (not too humid) will produce the same if not better quality.
Not that indoor isnt fantastic, and highly desirable and consistent smoke, but... Maybe im the odd man out. When i was growing up here in the eastern mountains, all the best flower was outdoor and local. I looked forward to winter time when it became prevalent because it was way cheaper then the indoor stuff coming from out west, and often a
lot better.
When i lived in KC and Phoenix, indoor blew the outdoor away.
So far, the best flower ive ever smoked was NorCal/Mendo outdoor, the land of Jack and Rhino (even though i havent had any cali outdoor in several years thats really impressed me a lot), and the outdoor of the eastern mountains, not coincidentally (i dont think anyway) the land of the skunk's origins. But i also wasn't really seeing any good outdoor around this past winter/spring here either.
I put tiny seedlings out in may that popped last week of april, and right now i have plants tall as i am, that are wider then they are tall. And im no little fella. Local soils and not much else so far either lol. Sativa doms. My own F1's. I cant wait to sample em this fall. Not many of those old hippie cats up in the mountains with their skunk-weeds these days anymore. All those old F1 beasts of norcal have come and gone it seems. You used to could hike up clingmas dome in the natl park in october, and the smell of fresh skunk was just so everywhere, you couldnt even track it to a single point in those ridges. Impossible. It was still like that when i was a kid, damn sure isn't anymore.
Ime indoor is usually a lot danker, and more consistent then outdoor. But the best flower ive ever smoked, was all outdoor flower. And there is no comparison to even be had imho.
There's an old song about growing seed from columbia and makin moonshine out here.
