Sungrown, I really don't know how I got it. I am pretty strict with my organic growing methods not only for my medicine but for my veggies as well. I never had a TMV attack anything up here. I am a pipe tobacco smoker and some of the reading I did suggests that exposure to tobacco can cause an outbreak. Other literature I came across says it's hogwash. I never smoke in my GH and and I'm very good about washing my hands before working with my plants, from seed to harvest. Heck, I don't even like people coming in there and if they do, it's a hands-off policy,...they touch nothing.

I hope to get some type of harvest this year as I can only grow outdoors once a year and I need to at least get a years supply for myself. I ain't a heavy smoker, just a Midnight Toker mostly.. which lessens the frequency of my migraines. And when I get a full blown migraine (which is now rare thanks to MMJ) I hit it up pretty heavy. I get maybe 1-2 migraines per month...the MMJ doesn't kill the migraine but does make the pain bearable until it passes (usually it's a 12-18 hour hell-ride until it subsides). Headaches started after I fractured my skull some 20 years ago in a car wreck. I also found using magic shrooms helps as a preventative measure.

Anyway, we'll see what the plant Gods have in store for me.

Hey guys, new to posting mostly just creep the site (caveman i'm a big admirer you do great things) lol. I'm not sure where your at but it looks a lot like a russet mite problem (tacoing of leaves) i just went through. they are practically impossible to see under 40x so get a good scope and check out by the pistol spots they like to gather there. HOPE NOT!!

GG, Russet mites have been ruled out. If you go back and read my thread it will explain further ( ie, at 100x and 60x there are no bugs or tiny critters, no eggs anywhere, on plants or in the soil and roots,..nada). This has been going on for months now and if in fact it were russet mites it would be a complete infestation to the entire greenhouse.

I am praying that you do not lose all your plants kolah, that would be horrible and you are too far away for me to help you out if that did happen (which I would do)

I too have migraines, debilitating in the summer esp. I have been in many wrecks also (a time or two me driving) and thru quite a few windshields(never me driving), but what causes my head issues is a projectile lodged in my head on a main vessel from something that happened when I was a kid(not gonna go into details here)

But basically when my blood pressure rises (blood trying to flow thru my brain faster than it can because that object rests on a vessel)it sets off headaches (head thunderstorms) that usually last for a week or sometimes longer. Cannabis does help relive the pain, but I am so used to it I think my pain threshold is not typical, cause this kind of pain would drop most folks to the ground. I have learned to manage my behavior enough to make the pain moderate for me.

I am not into psychedelics anymore, but if I remember correctly they probably did help at some point. I was pretty heavily involved with the lsd game for a bit and if I told you how much I used to consume you would likely not believe me so I will leave it at that. I used to grow cubensis and while growing them is fun and I was quite good at production, it just is not for me any longer.

As far as smoking around the girls is concerned, I have heard and read both sides of the story as well. The only true thing about if that is proven, is that smoke will cause the plants stomata to close up which has a negative (even if only slightly) effect on growth.

But yes cleanliness is a must, and I like to think I take many precautions with being clean, but with some of the things happening you have to start to wonder about what are they dropping in the chem trails that they don't tell us about. It is bad enough with the ones they do tell us about!

Sorry for the long post, you are the first person to bring a few memories like these out of me in a while and memory lane is really an interesting thing.

I am really rooting for you bro!

Yeah, I've had plants thrive in cold temps in the past, this has been an odd year. I also think we may get snow early in September (that's one of the reasons I kept the others in buckets so I can move them inside if need be.)

Honestly I do not think my CheetoKush is going to flower correctly. I lost 10 plants and this is the only one left. It doesn't mimic full blown TMV but it's still damaged. I'll watch to see how she flowers out. If she ain't going to kick into gear I'll chop her down to give room for my other plants.

If I do get any type of harvest I think I will remove all my GH soil and disinfect everything. I'll have to read up more about cleaning up after TMV .
Here's a good paper on GH management of tomato viral diseases.
WTF? I used to be able to attach it, but now I can't because the pdf is too big? Gotta talk to the Big Boss about that. In the meantime, linky-dink.

Have you tested the PPMs of your well water? I've seen something similar when I had some really rich well water 900ppms. I'm pretty sure it was a micronutrient toxicity. We started filtering our water and the problem went away.

Looking at your pix on the first page, that was my first thought. MUCH easier to deal with than a mosaic virus, because they can be eradicated. I can't recall if Met52 is effective against broads, but you may have seen that Ken and SunGrown are using it to battle hemp russets.

Yeah SM, I am going to get another microscope (with higher mag) and take another look. I also learned that there are tons of different mosaic viruses. As of right now it's possible it could be more broad mites than TMV. All my other plants are starting to flower and thriving...so far. The only plant in question is my big CheetoKush and the other plants are all in the GH as well. I am worried of I chop it and dispose of it I may then spread it to the others. But my thinking is that are bugs are happy staying there and that the CK is acting like a sacrificial plants. If I chop it they may look elsewhere for new homes...thus jump over to my good plants.

No I haven't Walt. At this stage of the game I can't leave no stone unturned.

About 2-3 weeks ago I started to use water from my rainfall collection systems...instead of the well water.

I think in the future I will screen all my window, roof vents and doors openings to reduce the amount of bugs that can get in. Without it, it's an open invitation for bad shit.

I'm glad I read. Yes, please check your ppm's of your well water. Mine were at 750 ppm this year and I have very similar looking problems. Switching to soft water and things are looking a little better. Hope this helps. Maybe from the huge snowmelt or last falls massive rainfall.

Or maybe I have mites too...I haven't ruled that out. I did find some eggs but no movement.

It's muthafuckin broad mites.

a detailed article, TMV/ broadmites http://pogenetics.com/?page_id=389

a snippet from the link: " Broad Mites tend to only infect non hygienic growing environments as they have a hard time initially colonizing in a perfect, clean environment. Once Broad Mites are allowed to colonize, they will cling on for dear life and be a growers worst nightmare until they are thoroughly treated. When a plants defenses and immune system are weakened it could exhibit signs that are quite similar to the results of a mosaic virus infestation, however, the Broad Mites are treatable and will not progress to destroy the plant as a Mosaic Virus would."
