I am praying that you do not lose all your plants kolah, that would be horrible and you are too far away for me to help you out if that did happen (which I would do)Sungrown, I really don't know how I got it. I am pretty strict with my organic growing methods not only for my medicine but for my veggies as well. I never had a TMV attack anything up here. I am a pipe tobacco smoker and some of the reading I did suggests that exposure to tobacco can cause an outbreak. Other literature I came across says it's hogwash. I never smoke in my GH and and I'm very good about washing my hands before working with my plants, from seed to harvest. Heck, I don't even like people coming in there and if they do, it's a hands-off policy,...they touch nothing.
I hope to get some type of harvest this year as I can only grow outdoors once a year and I need to at least get a years supply for myself. I ain't a heavy smoker, just a Midnight Toker mostly.. which lessens the frequency of my migraines. And when I get a full blown migraine (which is now rare thanks to MMJ) I hit it up pretty heavy. I get maybe 1-2 migraines per month...the MMJ doesn't kill the migraine but does make the pain bearable until it passes (usually it's a 12-18 hour hell-ride until it subsides). Headaches started after I fractured my skull some 20 years ago in a car wreck. I also found using magic shrooms helps as a preventative measure.
Anyway, we'll see what the plant Gods have in store for me.
Here's a good paper on GH management of tomato viral diseases.Yeah, I've had plants thrive in cold temps in the past, this has been an odd year. I also think we may get snow early in September (that's one of the reasons I kept the others in buckets so I can move them inside if need be.)
Honestly I do not think my CheetoKush is going to flower correctly. I lost 10 plants and this is the only one left. It doesn't mimic full blown TMV but it's still damaged. I'll watch to see how she flowers out. If she ain't going to kick into gear I'll chop her down to give room for my other plants.
If I do get any type of harvest I think I will remove all my GH soil and disinfect everything. I'll have to read up more about cleaning up after TMV .
Looking at your pix on the first page, that was my first thought. MUCH easier to deal with than a mosaic virus, because they can be eradicated. I can't recall if Met52 is effective against broads, but you may have seen that Ken and SunGrown are using it to battle hemp russets.
I also have a no hands policy especially in flower. Lol i cant stand for my girls to be handled.Sungrown, I really don't know how I got it. Have you tested the PPMs of your well water? I've seen something similar when I had some really rich well water 900ppms. I'm pretty sure it was a micronutrient toxicity. We started filtering our water and the problem went away.
Nope GeorgiaI think you are in Colorado, correct?
damn brotha, so what is the plan of attack then??It's muthafuckin broad mites.
a detailed article, TMV/ broadmites http://pogenetics.com/?page_id=389
a snippet from the link: " Broad Mites tend to only infect non hygienic growing environments as they have a hard time initially colonizing in a perfect, clean environment. Once Broad Mites are allowed to colonize, they will cling on for dear life and be a growers worst nightmare until they are thoroughly treated. When a plants defenses and immune system are weakened it could exhibit signs that are quite similar to the results of a mosaic virus infestation, however, the Broad Mites are treatable and will not progress to destroy the plant as a Mosaic Virus would."
