ive been thinking that maybe the water double boiler is the reason for your sucess. (moist heat)

ive also been wondering if you took your finished product, and put it in a pre heated oven at 250 degrees for 30 - 40 min to complete the decarb, if that would change the consistency?

Moisture is not an issue.
The purging chamber takes place in a 6 cu ft micro tent.
There is a portable electric burner for the water filled pan.
But the tent is ventilated directly to the outside with a 120cfm inline can fan.
And the intake air is filtered clean.
I hang the exhaust duct right behind and over the pan while the process is going to focus the removeal of the isopropyl alcohol vapors along with the moisture.

So the high air cycling helps remove any moisture introduced into the tent and blows it to the outside of the house.

I just don't want to add another 50° to my purging temps. I already lose some terps doing it this way.

ill look, chart somewhere.... shows lowest boiling temp for different terps and flavornides the lowest was i think 257 deg so the majority should still br around untill after their boiling point. ??

i think moisture has been a problem for some during the purging (turning milky). in mymind ive thought possibly the pure iso was sucking moisture outof the air and making it milky.
i think moist heat may be working for you.

Decarboxilation over hot sand yesterday.

I was complaining about temperature control problems when Greywolf offered this simple idea.
Might want to place a heat tolerant sheet over the sand.
Sand has a way of getting everywhere, as we all know.

Just need a wider sheet of parchment it seems.

Been bustin my ass in the garden so theweednurse only has 2 work 2 16 shifts a week. We are expecting our second lil human seedling at the end of august . This qwiso came out auper stable and loght in color because instead of using my stove double boiler i upgraded and got electric griddle with 9x13 glass pan for water bath and 8x8 pan to purge in. Best $30 ive spent recently lol
